A lot has changed in the Wisconsin sports scene. In April 2021 I wrote my review on Pure Choice Farms protein. Simply put, Pure Choice Farms protein powder is an industry leader. I even stated, arguably a better value than the national industry leader, Optimum Nutrition.
Fast-forward two years latter. It’s “In Love we trust” as QB1 in Green Bay. Then the buzz, energy, and excitement with Badger football!! Hey, I love Jim Leonard, but Luke Fickell is a GREAT hire for the Badgers.
I’m doing this spotlight on Pure Choice Farms protein powder, again. For the only reason… I received a “Thank You” package from the Pure Choice Farms team. A lot of readers have visited my website looking to see if Pure Choice protein is worth their money. A lot of people shared my website as the main reason for purchasing a Pure Choice product.

💰 Pure Choice Protein Price Review
As I shared above, I received this generous package from the friends at Pure Choice Farms. If you’re not sure which flavor to buy, go with the Whey Protein Flight. I like to call it, “Taste of Wisconsin.” In the past, I’ve purchased multiple protein powders from Pure Choice. The best place to buy Pure Choice Farns protein powder is direct from their website.
When calculating the price per serving. I take the total cost divided by number of servings. Well, this is the Whey Protein Flight. I got 5 bags of different servings and flavors. If you’re wondering, all of them taste great.
- Unflavored, 12 oz, 10+ servings per bag (32g serving size; 28g of protein)
- Vanilla, 12 oz, 9 servings per bag (37g serving size; 28g of protein)
- Chocolate, 12 oz, 9+ servings per bag (35g serving size, 28g of protein)
- Peanut Butter, 12 oz, 9+ servings per bag (37g serving size, 27g of protein)
- Frosted Marshmallow, 10 servings per bag (34g serving size, 28g of protein)
Total servings of protein in the Whey Protein Flight is 48 servings
- $85 per flight, 48 servings; $1.77 per serving
If you have a favorite Pure Choice flavor, there are five different sizing options and prices. (S&S is a 10% savings compared to one-time purchase).
- $22, 12 oz; 9 servings, $2.44 per serving ($19.80; $2.20 per serving)
- $45, 2 pounds; 24 servings, $2.05 per serving ($40.50; $1.69 per serving)
- $89, 5 pounds; 61 servings, $1.45 per serving ($80.10; $1.31 per serving)

If your favorite flavor is Frosted Marshmallow, be prepared to pay just a little bit more for the
12 oz and 2 pound sizes. There are no 5, 15, or 40 pound options. Options are 4, 16, and 30 pounds. Prices will vary.
S&H appears to be a flat rate at .99. Regardless of which size you select. It’s at a standard shipping.
Some of those prices point can be steep, especially at the value sizes. If you’re looking for a way to purchase without charging to your credit card. PayPal is an option, especially for any purchases over $99. No interest for 6 months is a great option.
😌 Money-Back Guarantee
You won’t need a money-back guarantee. You won’t have buyer’s remorse with any of the Pure Choice Farms protein powders.
How does Pure Choice Farms’ pricing fit into your budget? Share your thoughts on value for money and how it compares with your other favorite protein brands. Let’s discuss savings and quality in the comments below!
Pure Choice Farms offers a range of pricing options, the best value often comes in larger sizes. Consider your usage and budget to choose the most cost-effective option for you.
Value: 10. Price is totally subjective with protein powders. When I originally reviewed Pure Choice, I gave a score of 9.5. There was no hyperinflation, and there were only two price points: 2 and 5-pound options.
Yup, prices have gone up in the last 2 years. However, you’re buying the CLEANEST protein isolate in the market. You have multiple price points for servings. When purchasing at the best value sizes, it’s cheaper than MyProtein.
🤯 Pure Choice Protein Amino Spiked?
How to identify amino spiking in a protein powder?
Read the ingredient list for added “recovery blends,” creatine monohydrate, or added amino acids, like glutamine. Next step is to find an amino acid table. All reputable protein powder manufacturers may place an amino acid profile on their protein powder. If one is not present, request an amino acid profile from the supplement company. If they provide a table, they are confident with their protein powder.
Finally, with that amino acid profile. Look for the amount of leucine per serving. The normal amount of leucine for protein powder is around 10% to 11% per serving of protein. Take the amount of protein per serving, multiply by .1 or .11.
Looking at Pure Choice Farms most popular flavor, Vanilla. 28g of protein per serving multiplied by .1 and .11. Estimated leucine per serving is between 2.8g to 3.08g. Looking at the provided amino acid table, the amount of leucine per serving in Pure Choice Farms protein powder is 3.104g. Why is the leucine amount larger than the estimated? It’s the cows, man!
In certain spots in Wisconsin where the cows graze, the nutrients in the grass is similar to that of New Zealand. That’s the reason why you pay a little bit more for Pure Choice protein. In my opinion, it’s worth the price.
The amino acid profile of Pure Choice Farms is straightforward and trustworthy. With transparency in their labeling, it offers the quality assurance needed for any fitness enthusiast looking for a reliable protein source.
Amino Spike: 10 (It’s not spiked). No need to request an amino acid profile. It’s placed on the back of the packaging. It’s the KISS method of protein powders. Keep. It. Simple. Silly. The amino acid profile is similar to what you would find from grass-fed cows from New Zealand.

Curious about the ideal protein intake for post-workout recovery and muscle development?

🤝 How Does Pure Choice Protein Mix/Shake?
Pure Choice Farms has the easiest protein powder to shake. Whatever you decide to mix with, no clumps. No weird protein powder residue at the top of the shaker. Everything mixes. You want an extra treat. Mix it with whole milk.
Protein Shake Mix: 10. Mixes like a boss. The easiest protein powder to mix in a blender bottle.
🧪 Pure Choice Protein Ingredients Review
I’m going to say this right now. Pure Choice Farms has the cleanest protein on the market. Obviously, if you select a specific flavor. You’re going to get more ingredients because of flavoring. I want to keep this simple. I’ll just share the number of ingredients per flavor.
- Unflavored: 1, just protein, baby!
- Vanilla: 3. Protein and organic sugar and vanilla.
- Chocolate: 3. Protein and flavoring (cocoa and stevia)
- Peanut Butter: 5. Protein and flavoring (peanuts, sugar, salt, stevia)
- Marshmallow: 9. This is going to be the most “processed” of the protein powders. Corn sweeteners, emulsifiers, and flavoring.
Protein Ingredients: 10. Pick your choice of flavors. They all taste great. Going with the frosted marshmallow, you’re going to get more ingredients. A breath of fresh air reading the ingredient list.
✅ Pure Choice Protein Powder Nutrition Facts Review

Macros, minerals, and calories are going to vary with flavor. If you’re looking for something with no taste, blending with fruit, buy unflavored. If you want big flavor, buy frosted marshmallow. I selected vanilla because it’s the most popular seller.
🍗 How Much Protein Does Pure Choice Farms Have Per Serving?
Unflavored: 28g of protein per serving / 32g total serving = 88%
Vanilla: 28g of protein per serving / 32g total serving = 88%

Peanut Butter: 27g of protein per serving / 37g total serving = 73%

🍨 Is Pure Choice Protein Lactose Free?
Yes. As stated on the website: “virtually zero lactose.” I had zero GI issues with Pure Choice’s protein. No bloating. No gas chamber effects. No upset stomach. No rumbling stomach.
⚖️ Powder Scoop Size
Load up on the protein powder. Don’t level off the powder.
🏋️♂️ Is Pure Choice Protein a Meal Replacement or Post Workout Shake?
This protein powder is going to be best as a post workout shake. If you want to use it as an anytime snack, it may be enough to hold you over for 90-minutes. If you’re a larger individual, like myself, I would double up the servings and mix it with a low fat or no-fat milk.
Nutrition Facts: 9.5. I always score nutrition facts based off of the percent of protein per serving. If you want flavor, it’s at the expense of calories, additive, minerals, protein percent per serving and fats. All of them are great options. I’m giving that extra .5 point because of the lactose free label.

😋 How Does Pure Choice Protein Taste?
If you’ve been a long time user of protein isolates, flavors are limited and borderline mild. The reason why most isolates are flavorless is at the sacrifice of calories and fats. If you read the nutrition labels on any protein isolate, you may notice a trend.
Isolated proteins are usually low in calories, high in protein. To make up for the shortfall on flavor, supplement companies will resort to artificial flavors, sweeteners, or sodium. Some companies will use resort stevia. In my opinion, most companies will overuse stevia. Ruining the flavor profile being advertised.
Out of the four flavors (one unflavored), two have stevia.
Here are the flavors that are available for purchase through Pure Choice Farms
- Unflavored
- Vanilla (most popular)
- Chocolate (stevia)
- Peanut Butter (stevia)
- Frosted Marshmallow
All the flavors are a home run.
Which flavor of Pure Choice Farms Protein do you love most, or are eager to try? I’m curious to know your flavor preferences and why. Drop your picks and reasons in the comments – let’s find the crowd favorite!
Pure Choice Farms stands out with its variety of well-balanced and tasty options. Whether it’s Vanilla or Frosted Marshmallow, each flavor offers a unique taste without compromising on nutritional value.
Flavor: 10. Best tasting protein isolate powder that is low calorie. Flavor is present and mild. Some people probably want a more pronounced flavor, I get it. But if you’re on a cut.
Cutting calories is king when trying to shed weight. Drinking this protein will give you reminders of what you are drinking. Vanilla tastes like vanilla. Chocolate is chocolate. You get the idea. Marshmallow is a treat. It tastes like marshmallows from your favorite cereal.
🎬 Is Pure Protein Powder Good?
I love Pure Choice Protein.
When I initially reviewed the protein two years ago, I had some gripes.
👉 Industry standard is around 25g per serving (serving size WAS 14g per serving)
👉 Not enough sizing options (2 options at the time)
However, those gripes were minor. I still crowned Pure Choice Farms as an industry leader in 2021.
It’s June Dairy Days, 2023. I’ll go as far as to say that Pure Choice Farms protein is still the best value protein in the market.
Pure Choice Farms offers more, probably the most, with their protein.
🥛 Supporting local Wisconsin dairy farmers
🥛 Amino acid profile is printed on the package
🥛 Higher than average protein per serving; 28g per serving
🥛 New Zealand style protein powder, but not the price
🥛 Cleanest protein isolate on the market
🥛 Best tasting protein isolate on the market
🥛 Easiest to shake protein powder (mixes great with any liquid)
🥛 Virtually lactose free
🥛 Multiple price points that can fit every budget
The only gripe, that’s with how everything is priced nowadays. It’s the price point. 12 oz package, you get 9 servings. 2 pounds, you’re getting 24 servings. 5 pound container is where the value begins. If you know which flavor you like, get the 5 pound bag, 61 servings.
What if you’re not sure which flavor to buy. Get the Whey Protein Flight. You get all the flavors offered by Pure Choice Farms, 48 servings, priced at $85; $1.77 per serving. Comparing price points to nationally recognized brands and similar sizes, that’s about average. Those nationally recognized brands are a lower quality protein. Do you know why? They don’t have what Pure Choice Farms has…
Hands down, Pure Choice Farms is the best small market protein you can buy nationally. Kind of like the Green Bay Packers. Best small market team in the NFL.
Agree with my final verdict on Pure Choice Farms Protein? Or do you have a different take? I’m all ears for your opinions and personal experiences. Let’s start a conversation below and help each other make informed choices!

💥 Protein Powders Similar to Pure Choice Protein
As always, I’m going to recommend three different protein powders that are somewhat similar to Pure Choice Farms.
- Good: Dymatize ISO100, Review Score 90%.
- Better: Canadian Protein Premium Whey Isolate, Review Score 93%.
- Disappointing: Optimum Nutrition 100% Isolate, Review Score 81%.
Looking at price point, they are all very similar. Just be aware, when purchasing through Canadian Protein, S&H is killer on the final price. If you’re looking for a New Zealand style protein, Canadian Protein is going to score very similar to ON and Pure Choice Farms.
It’s not a competition between Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Isolate when compared to Pure Choice Farms. It’s the amino acid profile and the lactose free label found on Pure Choice’s isolate. It’s the Wisconsin cows that make the amino acid profile better. Pure Choice Protein for the “W.”
