Vade Protein Powder Review

Here’s why I’m doing this Vade Protein Pods review: Shark Tank. What does Shark Tank have anything to do with Vade Nutrition?

The owners of Vade appeared on Shark Tank to pitch their idea of a no scoop protein. It’s all measured and packaged in food grade biodegradable packaging. β€œJust toss, shake, and enjoy.”

Diving into Vade Nutrition after their Shark Tank fame – do these no-scoop, toss-in pods really revolutionize protein intake as they claim? Let’s find out.

Exploring Vade Protein Powder, I found its no-scoop, dissolvable pods genuinely innovative.

As a seasoned fitness expert, I put these pods to the test. They mix seamlessly, especially in cold water, offering 20g of high-quality Whey Protein Isolate per pod.

Their unique, biodegradable packaging sets them apart in the eco-friendly supplement space. Flavor-wise, Strawberry scores high, while Chocolate is more an acquired taste.

The compact, mess-free design is perfect for on-the-go lifestyles. However, they might not satisfy those needing higher protein doses.

Where Can I Buy Vade Nutrition?

Vade Nutrition primarily sells Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) in three flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Unique to Vade, their products are sold in pre-measured servings, not by weight. Let’s break down the pricing:

Direct from Vade:

  • Standard Price: $48.99 for 30 servings of strawberry, plus a bonus single serving of chocolate. This works out to $1.63 per serving.
  • Subscribe & Save Option: $41.64, reducing the cost to $1.39 per dissolvable pack.

Vade protein Amazon:

  • Standard Price: Same as Vade at $48.99, or $1.63 per serving.
  • Subscribe & Save Option: A slight discount at $46.54, making it $1.55 per serving.

Vade’s best deal is directly from their site, especially with the added variety in flavors. Amazon’s Subscribe & Save is also a good deal, but doesn’t beat Vade’s direct pricing.

Value: 7.5. While Vade’s Subscribe & Save price rivals that of MyProtein, it’s comparable to other premium brands like Optimum Nutrition and Pure Choice in per-unit cost. However, note that Vade offers 20 grams of protein per shake, slightly less than the 24-28 grams provided by some competitors.

Are Vade Protein Pods Amino Spiked?

An amino acid profile is not listed on the bag nor on the website. I contacted Vade Nutrition for an amino acid profile. They were happy to provide on without hassle.

Vade Dissolvable Protein Pods, amino acid profile.
Amino acid profile for Vade Protein Pods. Vade’s protein powder is not amino spiked.

Protein Spiking: 10 (it’s not spiked). I take protein products at face value on what is listed on the ingredient list. I did contact the company for an amino acids table. Per 100g of protein, the amino profile of the protein is not spiked.

How Do Vade Protein Pods Mix?

Alright, let’s see if Vade’s dissolvable pods are more than just a neat trick. Do they mix well, or is it just a gimmick? Time to put these pods to the test.

Vade advertises their protein shake as portable, mess-free, and it’s pre-measured convenience. Well it blend?

Vade Dissolvable Pods Mixing Instruction
Follow the instructions provide by Vade.

The powder is wrapped in a food-grade film. That film will dissolve coming in contact with any liquid.

Does the film and particles disappear?

Yes, most of the time. No clumps. What’s odd about the supplement is the film. Once the pods contact water, the film sinks to the bottom of your shaker. You won’t need a blender. Shaker cup, liquid of choice,  is the easy way for this powder. Dissolves instantly!

Pre-measured helpings are great. What if you’re someone who needs around 40g of muscle dust post workout? Reading the directions, I did not try to blend 2 sacks.

β€œβ€¦do not mix more than 1-2 DISSOLVABLE PROTEIN PACKS in liquid at the same time…”

Vade protein pods dissolve better with cold water. Mixing the pods with room temp water will make it difficult to dissolve.

Mixability 7.5: Vade protein pods mix best with cold water. Some people may find it odd drinking a film with your smoothie. It’s an odd sensation, you’ll get over it. Trust the directions.

Vade Pods Lactose Free?

I did not experience any digestive issues. If I did have any issues, they were mild at best.

Best Way to Use Vade Pods

Vade’s protein pods are fast digesting best used post-workout. The high-quality protein is best aiding in workout recovery.

Is Vade Nutrition Good for Weight Loss?

If you’re going to use Vade protein pods as a meal replacement shake, you will be hungry. There is no fat and no fiber.

As a nutritionist, Vade protein pods would be a good recommendation for keto.

Macro Composition: 8. Over 80% of vade protein is from protein. Keto approved. I would not use Vade protein as a meal replacement shake.

How Does Vade’s Protein Pods Taste?

Most people like base a protein purchase based off of one of two qualities: mixability and flavor.

Chocolate Milkshake
If you use water to mix the protein pods, you may be disappointed. Simply put, not a fan of flavor or description. I would describe it as a Dollar Store chocolate milkshake.

Strawberry Milkshake
Strawberry Milkshake is a homerun! Using water a base, it was fantastic.

Using milk gives you a true taste of a true milkshake. Is it the best tasting protein supplement on the market? No. Is it a strawberry taste that I could keep drinking post-workout and keep buying more? Yes.

Which Dissolvable Protein Pods Taste the Best?

Flavors offered at Vade

  • Chocolate Milkshake
  • Vanilla Milkshake
  • Chocolate and Vanilla (50/50 of the above flavours)
  • Cappuccino
  • Strawberry Milkshake

When you visit the Vade website, out of almost 6,000 reviews, it sets at nearly a 5 star review. Universally, everyone loved any of the flavor

Visiting Amazon. Out of 2100 reviews, Vade Protein Pods iat at a respectable 4.4 out of 5 stars. Individuals that gave Vade Protein Pods a 1 star review shared my sentiments about Chocolate Milkshake as β€œYuck.”

Other 1 star reviews stemed from the pods fusing together (humidity due to delivery location), pods being pierced during shipping, or ingredients in the protein pods.

Flavor: 8.5. I didn’t enjoy the chocolate with water. Strawberry with water is as advertised. If you use milk, you’ll get that advertised milkshake flavour.

Is Vade Nutrition Good?

Is Vade Nutrition’s protein pods good? Yes. Let’s cut to the chase about Vade Protein Pods.

They’ve got the cool factor down with their Shark Tank-famed dissolvable pods, but when it comes to the crunch, are they just a flashy gimmick or a real game-changer in your protein routine?

Sure, they mix like a dream with cold water, and their compact, no-mess approach is a win for those on-the-go. But at 20 grams of protein per pod, they might fall short for the heavy lifters.

Plus, the taste? Hit or miss depending on your choice of liquid.

So, are they worth your dough? For convenience and eco-friendliness, absolutely.

For the hardcore gym enthusiasts looking for a heavy protein hit, maybe not as much.

Bottom line – Vade Protein Pods are a solid choice for a quick protein fix, especially if you’re after something easy, efficient, and environmentally conscious.

Just don’t expect them to replace your whole protein arsenal.
