📖 Muscle Feast Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate Review Details

unbiased muscle feast grass fed whey protein isolate

Muscle Feast Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate offers the following in each bag

  • It does not contain any soy, gluten, fillers, added or artificial sweeteners
  • Advertised as a grass-fed, hormone-free protein powder imported from pasture-raised European dairy cows
  • Officially certified by these 3rd party organizations: Labdoor, Informed Choice, Kosher, Gluten Free, and Vegetarian
  • Finally, a family-owned Ohio-based business

This Muscle Feast Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate review aims to thoroughly examine the product’s claims and provide credibility behind them. Let’s move on to the next section, which explains how to use Muscle Feast Isolate.

🏋️‍♂️ Is Muscle Feast Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate a Meal Replacement or Post Workout Shake?

Research indicates that fast-digesting proteins, such as the whey protein isolate in Muscle Feast Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate, can be broken down in the stomach within 30 to 45 minutes. I suggest using Muscle Feast Isolate post-workout.

However, if you’re not lactose-sensitive, I would have no issues with slamming a Muscle Feast shake 60 minutes before your workout. If you want to use Muscle Feast Isolate as a meal replacement or “tide you over until your next meal” shake, I would mix it with at least 1% milk and double your scoops.

💪 How Much Muscle Feast Isolate Post Workout Should I Take?

Research suggests stimulating muscle protein synthesis. You should consume 25 grams of protein with up to 3 grams of leucine. Muscle Feast Isolate offers 20.5 grams of protein per scoop with 2.231 grams of leucine.

To stimulate MPS post-workout, I suggest you take less than 1.4 scoops. You’ll consume 28 grams of protein with 3.2 grams of leucine.

If you want to save your protein, I suggest using skim milk with Muscle Feast Protein. The USDA’s leucine information states that one cup of skim milk offers 8 grams of protein with .8 grams of leucine. You can also use a cup of Skim Fairlife milk. You will surely exceed the 25 grams of protein with 3 grams of leucine.

🛒 Where To Buy Muscle Feast Products

Muscle Feast protein is readily available anywhere online. However, where is the best place to buy Muscle Feast products? Direct from Muscle Feast or Amazon?

As always, I purchased my Muscle Feast Isolate bag from Amazon. Let’s compare each outlet and see which is the best place to purchase a bag of Muscle Feast Isolate.

Muscle Feast Supplements

Purchasing directly from Muscle Feast has its advantages

  • Coupon codes for discount savings
  • 10% Subscribe and Save
  • Free S&H (3-7 days)

  • 2-pound, 37 servings, $68.99, $1.86 per serving (S&S $1.67 per serving)
  • 5-pound, 94 servings, $126.99, $1.35 per serving (S&S $1.22 per serving)

Amazon

As always, I purchased my Muscle Feast Grass Fed Whey Isolate directly from Amazon. If you’re an Amazon Prime Member, you will get 2-day shipping. Other than that, there are no Subscribe & Save deals

  • 2-pound, 37 servings, $58.99, $1.59 per serving
  • 5-pound, 94 servings, $108.58, $1.16 per serving

It’s a personal preference where you want to spend your money. However, Muscle Feast is a family-owned business certified as an SDVOSB, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business

If you want to purchase Muscle Feast Protein, purchase directly from their website.

Visit Muscle Feasts ‘Returns & Exchanges.’ The following is shared: “If you are not completely satisfied with your order for any reason within 30 days, just fill out the info below, and we will make things right.”

If you want to support a family-owned business certified by the US Government as an SDVOSB, and enjoy the benefits of lower price points and direct customer service, purchasing directly from Muscle Feast is the way to go.

⚛️ Is Muscle Feast Grass Fed Whey Protein Isolate Amino Spiked?

Muscle Feast Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate is not amino-spiked. The amino acid profile is printed on the container. The next question we must answer is whether it’s genuinely a grass-fed protein powder.

unbiased muscle feast grass fed whey protein isolate
Amino acid profile for Muscle Feast Isolate.

If you’re wondering if Muscle Feast Grass Fed Whey Protein’s amino acid profile qualifies as truly grass-fed. I always use AGN Root’s highest BCAA concentration article. I’ll create a table of Muscle Feast with the listed amount of BCAAs, total BCAAs, and protein per serving compared to ON Gold Standard Whey.

Muscle Feast listed the amount of proteinON Gold Standard Whey
Leucine2.231 grams2.64 grams
Isoleucine1.288 grams1.68 grams
Valine1.058 grams1.39 grams
Total BCAAs4.577 grams5.5 grams
Protein per Serving20.5 grams24 grams

Adjusting the information found in the AGN Roots grass-fed article, Muscle Feast ranks at

Grassfed Finished or Partially Grassfed. Despite the best intentions, states like California suffer from drought and climate change impacts. These climate events lead to the inconsistent use of nutrient-rich grain feed as an intermittent solution. Unpredictable weather and the non-routine treatment of the animals as they cope increases stress levels. The quality of milk, therefore, the whey protein macro-nutrients become impacted.

My next concern for Muscle Feast. When compared to ON Gold Standard Whey, the BCAA profile is lower. Here are the reasons why you purchase a grass-fed protein

  • Higher amount of BCAAs per serving
  • Animal welfare
  • Reduced toxins and pesticides
  • No antibiotics and milk-producing hormones

We do know this about Muscle Feast Grass-fed Protein

  • Official documents from the UK/Ireland indicating cows are not injected with antibiotics and milk-producing hormones
  • Toxicology report from whey distributor

Unfortunately, Muscle Feast Grass-fed protein falls short compared to a standard whey protein. Now we must answer the question: Is Muscle Feast Grass Fed Isolate truly grass-fed?

🔍 Is Muscle Feast Grass Fed Whey Protein A Truly Grass Fed Protein?

AGN Roots offers a fantastic article examining food label claims. It shares a list of commonly used food-label terms. Let’s examine the word “grass-fed.”

Without a certifying 3rd party seal, the term “grass-fed” found on Muscle Feast Grass Fed Whey Protein may mean many things. AGN Roots that Grass Fed may mean:

“The USDA does not have an official definition for “grass-fed” claims for dairy products. Pasture access during the animal’s life is required, but producers can define the specifics themselves, resulting in huge variations, many of which are substandard.

Here is a list of claims being made by Muscle Feast Grass Fed Whey Protein

  • Grass-fed
  • Hormone-free
  • Pasture-raised
  • European protein

Are there third-party seals for these statements? A document I received from Muscle Feast can verify some of these claims. We know the protein powder is sourced from the UK and Ireland. However, having a truly grass-fed, hormone-free, and pasture-raised dairy cow is questionable. I would say that some of these requirements met most of the cow’s existence.

📜 Is Muscle Feast Whey Isolate 3rd Party Tested?

Here is a list of verified and certified independent third-party seals that Muscle Feast has obtained and shared on the bag and website.

unbiased muscle feast grass fed whey protein isolate
This is not an official or recognized grass-fed seal in the protein industry.

Surprisingly, Labdoor also provided a third-party seal. The Labdoor report states that the listed amount of protein on the bag is not amino spiked, and Muscle Feast Whey Isolate passed Labdoor’s purity test.

What about the claims made by Muscle Feast Isolate: grass-fed, hormone-free, pasture-raised, and European-imported protein? The bag does not have seals to verify these most critical claims.

Muscle Feast provided a detailed document on the protein powder source. They also shared that their grass-fed and hormone-free whey protein is registered with Informed Ingredients and is free from banned substances.

🥇 What Is The Best Grass Fed Whey Protein

If you’re looking for a certified, truly grass-fed protein that meets a minimum threshold for 3rd party certified hormone-free and pasture raise, read my Earth Fed Muscle Protein review and AGN Roots Grass Fed Whey Protein review.

However, you may have encountered other protein powders advertised as “grass-fed.” Unfortunately, after thorough research and examining any third-party certifications, I found that those protein powders are not 100% grass-fed. They may offer trace amounts of grass-fed powder.

Another protein powder we are considering is Antler Farms. Although they do not have a genuinely grass-fed stamp, the protein powder is imported from New Zealand and claims to be 100% grass-fed. Check out my Antler Farms Whey Protein Isolate review.

Here is a list of protein powders not certified as 100% grass-fed.

Amino Spiking: 10 out of 10. Muscle Feast is certified by a Labdoor purity test, certifying that it’s not amino spiked. I would still like a certified grass-fed badge from an independent agency. However, a detailed report is a nice touch and counter.

🥤How Do You Mix Muscle Feast Isolate?

unbiased muscle feast grass fed whey protein isolate
Mixing direction for Muscle Feast Whey Isolate.

Muscle Fest Isolate’s mixing directions are as follows.

  1. One level scoop into a shaker
  2. Mixed with 6-10 oz of more of water or your favorite beverage
  3. Shake

It’s not stated; however, the picture encourages using a shaker bottle with Muscle Feast Isolate.

Muscle Feast Whey Isolate mixes excellent. However, the time used to mix will depend on the solubility of the powder. Less time, more clumping. Muscle Feast Isolate is not a burden to shake. However, you may need a couple more pumps to get the clumping to stop.

⚖️ Does Muscle Feast Isolate Come With A Scoop?

Muscle Feast Isolate comes with a scoop. You’ll double-take the significant scoop, and the powder will be so fine. Rest assured, it’ll be on serving if you go one level scoop of Muscle Feast Isolate.

Muscle Feast Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate Review

Shakability Test: 9 out of 10. Your mileage will vary on how long you shake Muscle Feast Isolate. If you do a quick three to five shakes, you will experience small cake clumps. If you go longer, it’ll come out nearly clean.

📋 What Are The Ingredients in Muscle Feast Grass Fed Whey Protein Isolate?

Here is the ingredient list for Muscle Feast Grass Fed Whey Protein Isolate’s vanilla flavor. As always, the ingredient profile will change depending on the type of flavor you select. If you’re looking for the least amount of ingredients, always select unflavored.

IngredientPurpose
Whey Protein IsolateProvides high-quality protein essential for muscle repair and growth, with minimal fat and lactose.
Natural Vanilla FlavoringEnhances the taste of the protein powder naturally, without artificial flavors.
Sunflower LecithinIt acts as a natural emulsifier to ensure the protein powder mixes smoothly with liquids, preventing clumping.
Stevia ExtractAdds sweetness to the protein powder without calories or carbohydrates, making it suitable for those reducing sugar intake.

Suppose you are someone looking for minimally processed, high-quality protein. Muscle Feast Grass Fed Isolate is a worthy selection. However, my only knock is the use of stevia.

Here’s why I don’t enjoy seeing stevia in protein powders: Personally, with higher-dosed stevia protein powders, the protein powder will have a medicinal aftertaste. It’s borderline not enjoyable.

🌍 Does Muscle Feast Isolate Use USA-Sourced Protein?

unbiased muscle feast grass fed whey protein isolate
Seeing Truly Grass Fed and Animal Welfare Approved are the standards for grass-fed and pasture-raised.

What does this statement mean to you: European pasture-raised? That green badge on every bag of Muscle Feast Isolate indicates the protein powder is imported from Europe. Which country?

I contacted Muscle Feast for more information. They responded quickly and provided a PDF file that I’ll share.

Muscle Feast uses milk from both Great Britain and Ireland. As shared before, I want an official third-party badge indicating that the protein powder sourced from Great Britain and Ireland meets the minimum requirements for pasture raising and is 100% grass-fed.

Ingredients List: 10 out of 10. This recipe has a minimal ingredient list. Although I am not a fan of stevia, using it will be cheaper than monk fruit.

🥗 What Nutrition Is In Muscle Feast Whey Isolate?

Here are the nutrition facts for Muscle Feast Whey Isolate Vanilla.

  • Sodium 41mg
  • Total Carbohydrate 2g
    • Dietary Fiber 0g
    • Total Sugars 1g
  • 20.5 grams of muscle-building protein

I would like to see a higher amount of protein per serving. However, Muscle Feast Whey Isolate feels like grass-fed protein powder without a certification.

🍗 What Percent Protein Does Muscle Feast Grass Fed Whey Protein Isolate Have Per Serving?

Examining the amount of protein per serving can help determine how much filler is in one serving. My personal preference for the percentage of protein per serving is above 75%. Muscle Feast Isolate offers a minimum of 82% protein per serving.

🍨 Is Muscle Feast Isolate Lactose Free?

While reviewing and drinking Muscle Feast Isolate, I experienced minimal GI issues. It is shared that Muscle Feast Isolate uses cold filtration.

In my experience, protein powders that use cold filtration cause fewer GI issues. If you want an alternative whey protein that is also cold-filtered, check out my Pure Choice Farms Whey Protein review.

Muscle Feast Isolate proudly advertises the gluten-free badge if you also want a certified gluten-free protein powder.

Suppose you’re also tired of GI issues caused by protein powders. Check out another of my articles, “Whey Protein Isolate Low Lactose.” The cause for most GI issues stems from low-quality protein powders.

unbiased muscle feast grass fed whey protein isolate
These aren’t all the verified 3rd party badges for Muscle Feast Whey Isolate.

Nutrition Facts: 8.5 out of 10. At an average of 85% protein per serving, that’s fantastic. Examining each flavor, the lowest protein percent is 82%. Muscle Feast Isolate offers a high-quality protein powder.

👌 Does Muscle Feast Whey Isolate Taste Good?

Opening a bag of Muscle Feast Whey Isolate is a treasure. I have Muscle Feast Whey Isolate Vanilla, and wow! You are instantly greeted with the delicious smell of vanilla. I wish that Muscle Feast Isolate would be more enjoyable.

As shared in the Ingredient Section, stevia is the preferred zero-calorie sweetener. The stevia used in Muscle Feast Whey Isolate is too much for my taste buds. At first, you are greeted with a nice vanilla flavor. However, those feelings of sweet vanilla are met with the medicinal stevia flavor profile.

The amount of stevia used in Muscle Feast Isolate is tolerable. However, it is worth mentioning that if you are sensitive to stevia, you may not enjoy Muscle Feast Isolate.

⭐️ What’s The Best-Tasting Muscle Feast Whey Isolate Flavor?

4,100 buyers have reviewed Muscle Feast Whey Isolate. It currently has a 4.3 out of 5-star review rating. Here is a list of negatives shared by buyers.

The common recurring theme is price. After that, taste is a close second. Users feel like there has been a flavor profile change. It could be the increased use of stevia, which I shared in my taste. Regarding the worst-tasting flavor, strawberry cheesecake and cappuccino are commonly shared as not enjoyable.

Examining positive reviews, everyone (even the negative Muscle Feast comments) shared Muscle Feast’s level of transparency. If you had to select a flavor, stick with the basics: unflavored, vanilla, and chocolate.

Flavor: 7 out of 10. If you’re sensitive to stevia, you will taste a medicinal aftertaste. Honestly, it’s a distracting flavor, but it’s tolerable.

🏁 Is Muscle Feast Protein Good?

If you’re on the fence, you probably wonder if Muscle Feast Protein is good. As always, I’ll go over my cons.

  • The amount of stevia used causes a medicinal aftertaste
  • Muscle Feast Protein can be pricey
  • The lack of a genuinely grass-fed seal is disappointing at this price point.

Here is what is excellent about Muscle Feast Protein

  • Great customer service
  • Transparent label
  • 95% of the major 3rd party certifications are there

Let me get my final thoughts on this Muscle Feast Grass Fed Whey Protein Isolate review.

✨ Muscle Feast Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate Review: Final Thoughts

There is much to love about Muscle Feast Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate: transparent label, 95% of the necessary 3rd badges have been met, receiving a high-quality, minimally processed protein powder.

So what’s holding Muscle Feast Grass Fed Whey Protein Isolate in earning at least an 80% score?

There is no denying that Muscle Feast may look expensive compared to other truly or mostly grass-fed protein powders. I want a third-party certification from Great Britain or Ireland to prove their protein is from pasture-raised cows.

You’re purchasing a grass-fed protein powder for more BCAAs per serving. Comparing muscle feast to standard protein powders like ON Gold Standard Whey. The amino acid profile falls short for a grass-fed protein powder.

That’s my only real knock on Muscle Feast Grass Fed Whey Protein Isolate, the one primary third-party certification. However, the other certifications earned by Muscle Feast are impressive.

  • Labdoor purity test (not amino spiked)
  • Informed Ingredient (free of banned ingredients)
  • Gluten-free
  • Kosher
