📖Details About Unviersal Nutrition, Owner of Anaiml Whey

As a college student in my 20s, I had this off again, on again relationship with fitness. Some weeks I would workout, other weeks I was “too busy” recovering from a hangover. Sometimes in life, you get a little too comfortable, and the pounds start creeping up on you. Plus, I was going through a rough patch in my life (relationship/self-esteem issues).

Not knowing a lot about fitness, I started looking at ways to “lose weight 20 pounds in 20-days” and “5 big arm busting exercises…”

I was into Men’s Health. Applying those Men’s Health articles, I made progress with my weight loss and core lifts. If you ever read a Men’s Health magazine, tons of protein, ads. The one ad that I will ALWAYS remember from Animal

A roided-up guy was getting out of bed. Next to him, a half naked women. Persuading him he can get his workout at home… (WINK, WINK.) He needed to get to the gym.

Only the hardcore of gym-goers use Universal Supplements. Lets get into the Animal review.

💰 Where’s the Best Place to Buy Animal Whey Isolate?

When buying Animal Pak Whey directly from Animal, it’s available in three sizes with shipping and handling costing $8.95. However, I found better deals on Amazon, offering more size options, a variety of flavors, and generally lower prices.

Direct from Animal:

  • 2 lbs (28 servings): $43.95 or $39.55 with a 10% discount ($1.57/$1.41 per serving)
  • 4 lbs (56 servings): $73.95 or $66.55 with a 10% discount ($1.32/$1.19 per serving)
  • 10 lbs (142 servings): $155.95 or $140.35 with a 10% discount ($1.10/$0.99 per serving)

Animal Whey Protein Amazon:

  • 2 lbs (28 servings): $29.57 or $28.09 with a 10% discount ($1.06/$1.00 per serving)
  • 4 lbs (56 servings): $48.95 or $46.50 with a 10% discount ($0.87/$0.83 per serving)
  • 5 lbs (72 servings): $61.23 ($0.85 per serving) – Best Value (Vanilla flavor; Chocolate is $17 more)
  • 10 lbs (142 servings): $122.99 or $116.84 with a 10% discount ($0.86/$0.82 per serving) (Chocolate flavor; Vanilla is $5 more, Cookies N’ Cream at $142)

Prices vary depending on the flavor, with some not offering discounts. I chose Amazon for my purchase of Isolate Loaded Whey, finding it to offer the best value, though prices and flavor costs do fluctuate.

Does Animal Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?

After reviewing Old School Lab’s Vintage Brawn protein powder, I bet you’re wondering if Animal offers a guarantee on their products?

Yes. Animal calls it their Ironclad Guarantee. 90-day, no questions asked 100% money-back guarantee. I’m happy with Animal’s protein powder. I did not use their money-back guarantee. The entire container is empty.

Value 8. Anytime you buy protein in bulk, that’s your best value buy. Anytime you see price per serving under 1.00, that’s an automatic 8. Why not give Isolate Loaded Whey at 9? I’ll discuss that in Ingredient Profile and Flavor.

🤯 Is Animal Whey Protein Amino Spiked?

The amount of naturally occurring BCAAs for a protein with 25g per serving should be 5.5g. The 3 amino acids that compromise BCAAs

  • Leucine
  • Isoleucine
  • Valine

What’s great about Isolate Loaded Whey Protein is that the amino acid table is printed on the label.

Universal Amino Acids

Here is the aminio acid profile for Universal Animal Whey protein.

Halfway through and think Animal Whey isn’t for you? 🛑 Wait until you read about its mixability and taste – it might just change your mind! 💭🥤

Protein Spiking 10 (it’s not spiked). Nice seeing an amino acid table printed on the container. Doing the math, the protein checks out as not spiked under my watchful eye.

🤝 How Does Animal Whey Protein Mix in a Shaker Bottle?

This protein mixes well with all liquids. My only gripe is that sometimes you get chunks around the top of the rim. Sometimes, extra shakes are necessary to get the powder dissolved.

Mixability 7.5. Mixes well with all liquids. Sometimes the powder gets stuck at the very top no matter how much shaking you do.

🧪 Universal Animal Whey Protein Ingredients?

I got the impression that this protein was all isolate, no whey concentrate. Well, I was wrong. Animal Whey Protein Isolate protein is a blend of whey concentrate and isolate. And milk derived whey protein concentrate.

(It does make you wonder if there is a difference between milk protein and whey protein??? There is…)

🍨 Is Animal Iso Whey Protein Blend Lactose and Gluten Free?

I did experience some mild bloating and protein farts. Animal was kind enough to provide some digestive enzymes with this protein.

  • Papain: breaks down protein into smaller bits (peptides)
  • Bromelain: enhances the absorption of protein

The digestive enzymes are not enough to avoid the inevitable. Animal Pak protein is not gluten free.

Macro Composition 7.5. You already know my rule, if the protein per serving is over 80%, the product gets an 8. Anything less, it’s bumped down to 7.5 A lot to like about the composition of this protein. Sodium per serving is about the average you see between quality products.

😋 Does Animal Whey Isolate Taste Good?

Does Animal Whey Isolate taste good?

Animal Pak whey protein strawberry flavor is solid.
Strawberry Animal Pak protein is a blended protein. You’re going to use progressive overload with strawberry.

It’s nice that Animal went out of their way to put actual dehydrated Strawberry bits in their protein. However… Those Strawberry bits are SUPER bitter.

Seeing strawberry ice cream next to Animal Pak isolate, I have HIGH flavor expectations.

The best way to describe the flavor is this… If you ever ate cereal with dehydrated strawberry bits, add in some odd medicine taste.

I can finish the container. Animal Pak’s protein is okay. Not the best strawberry flavor.

Flavor 7.0. Everyone has their own flavor pallet. I’m not venturing into the world of strawberry sold by Animal. Animal Pak protein tastes better any budget branded proteins. I expected MORE for what you’re paying.

🎬 Is Animal Whey Protein Good?

As we wrap up our journey with Animal’s Isolate Loaded Whey Protein, let’s weigh the pros and cons.

Challenges to Consider:

  • The protein blend includes both isolate and concentrate, which might not suit purists.
  • Some clumping issues noted, requiring a bit more effort to mix smoothly.
  • The Strawberry flavor is unique but may not appeal to everyone – it’s a taste you might need to acquire.

Strong Points to Applaud:

  • Each serving packs 25g of high-quality protein, supporting muscle growth and recovery.
  • The ingredient list is transparent, with a detailed amino acid profile displayed on the container.
  • Exceptional value, especially when purchased in larger sizes (4 pounds and above).
  • Animal’s ironclad money-back guarantee offers peace of mind with your purchase.

In conclusion, Animal Whey Protein stands out as a robust choice for fitness enthusiasts. It offers a potent blend of quality and value, despite some minor drawbacks in mixability and flavor preference.

For those exploring bulk options, sticking to traditional flavors might be a safer bet. Overall, Animal Whey Protein is a worthy contender in the crowded supplement space, especially for those seeking a balance between quality and cost.
