Ghost Whey Protein Powder Review
Ghost protein review has been a long time coming. At the time of this writing, Ghost was only sold via their website and GNC. Here’s a review of Ghost.
I’m sure you’re wondering, “Is ghost whey protein good for you?”
I did an update review on Ghost Whey protein because Blueberry Toaster Pastry is no longer available. For the most recent thoughts and opinions visit unbiased review of Ghost Whey protein review.
I couldn’t find much information on Ghost sports nutrition brand. From what I researched, Ghost supplements started up like all protein start-up companies, providing a great-tasting and quality protein. Ghost supplements just grew into what it is today. Simple enough, right?
Ghost makes health and fitness aids: pre-workouts, vegan protein, amino acids, etc. Ghost products are branded around the “3 C’s:” candy, cookies, and cereals. A lot of protein in stores are trying to make unique flavors that mimic Ghost.
👻 Ghost Whey Protein: Taste Meets Nutrition 🏋️♂️
Ghost Whey Protein is a standout in the crowded protein market. As a fitness expert, I’m impressed by its unique approach to flavors – think Cereal Milk and Chips Ahoy!
It’s not just tasty; each serving packs a solid 25g of protein, blending whey isolate, concentrate, and hydrolyzed whey. It’s great post-workout, thanks to fast-digesting proteins.
However, it’s a bit pricey, and the loyalty program’s benefits are long-term.
- Delicious, unique flavors
- Quality protein blend
- Digestive enzymes included
- Higher price point
- No large-size options

Best Place to Buy Ghost Whey Protein Powder
I purchased a 26 serving (2-pound container) of Blueberry Toaster Pastry blended protein from GNC for 39.99 plus tax, the price is set at the same ghostlifestyle.com. Unfortunately, purchasing Ghost protein from Amazon will NOT lead to a cheaper purchase, for the same 2-pound container, sellers are charging close to $65.
GNC will offer free S&H if you make a purchase of more than $49. However, if you purchase the protein directly from the brand’s website, no free S&H. If you’re using the Honey extension, you’re more likely to save more money purchasing directly from GNC.
- 26 servings at $39.99, 1.53 per serving.
A couple of things to note, there is no 5-pound container, so you are locked in at the one price. The typical servings and protein will vary depending on the flavor protein you purchase, that’s the norm with most supplement companies.
Even though the price may seem steep per serving, Ghost does have a loyalty membership program. For every container you purchase their protein, a loyalty card is in the container with points associated with the card. For every 11,500 points you redeem, you get one FREE 2-pound container. Nice right? Um…
My loyalty point card I got was worth 500 points. If you do the math and IF every loyalty redemption card only offers 500 points, you need to purchase 23 containers of Ghost. So… 23 containers X $39.99 = $919.77 before tax and before S&H. Comment below if you have got anything more than 500 points.
Best Online Retailer to Buy Ghost Lifestyle Protein
Updated 2023
It’s been awhile since I’ve examined Ghost. As I shared at the beginning of this review, Ghost Lifestyle was exclusive to their website and GNC. That is not the case anymore!
You can purchase Ghost Lifestyle at any online retailer. Where is the best place to purchase?
Prices are all the same at $44.99. However, GNC does offer an exclusive seasonal flavored size at $29.99. I loathe GNC. If you’re looking for the best online retailer to purchase Ghost Lifestyle protein, direct from the company!
- 26 servings, $44.99, $1.73 per serving (S&S @25% off, $33.74, $1.29 per serving)
$1.29 per serving is a great deal! This begs the question… How much is S&H? $9.49, 3 to 5 business days.
Going direct through the company is an amazing deal. Amazon is only offering 5% off for S&S. However, that 2-day shipping is a game changer!
Value: 6. Yes, it’s 100% whey protein, I’ll discuss more in the Ingredient Profile section of the review and that is affecting the value score. If you’re on a budget, this isn’t the protein you want, I can recommend better brands that are 100% Whey Protein Isolate. Priced at $39.99, which is already a hit in the wallet, with no value container, the brand is really pushing itself in a corner. Nice touch with the loyalty program, but once you do the math, meh.
Is Ghost Protein Amino Spiked?
It’s not spiked. The label states ”NO AMINO SPIKING.” Reading the ingredient list, nothing indicates hidden cheap nitrogen components.
Protein Spiking: 10, it’s not spiked.
How Does Ghost Protein Shake?
It mixes great with water. Mixes great with nut milk. Mixes great with 2% milk.
It clumps with whole milk.
Mixability: 9.5, it mixes well. If you’re using this as a post-workout shake, chances are you’re using water. This protein is marketed as an anytime use shake and does an alright job if you’re using 2% milk. That would be the thickest liquid I would use.

What’s the Ingredients List for Ghost Whey Protein?
It’s your standard ingredient list and everything properly labeled.
What’s nice, Ghost Lifestyle went ahead and provided the form of whey, amounts of milk protein and grade of protein used in Ghost Whey. The protein types are printed on the tub of protein. The whey protein blend sources in one scoop of Ghost.
- Whey Isolate 90% 14.53g delivering 13.5g Protein
- Whey Protein Concentrate 80% 13.61g delivering 10g Protein
- Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Isolate 2.98g delivering 2.5g Protein
You’re probably asking, “What’s the difference between protein components?”
Hydrolyzed whey protein isolate is a higher concentrated amount of protein and can be used more efficiently by the body when compared to Whey.
What else is found in this protein supplement?
Sucralose, sunflower lecithinated, natural and artificial sweeteners, natural and artificial flavor, cellulose gum, xanthan gum.
Ghost also added a digestive enzymes: bromelain, protease, and lactase.
In Laymans terms: Type of protein of whey isolate and concentrate, thickener, emulsifiers, artificial sweeteners, natural sweetener, digestive enzyme, and coloring.
Ingredient Profile: 7.5, it’s your standard profile showing you specifics of the protein content. One can make the argument that you’re buying a 60/40 of isolate/concentrate blended protein. Enzyms to digest the protein is always a great addition.
What Are the Macros for Ghost Protein Powder?
Serving in a container 26,
One scoop is 36.5 grams
Is Ghost Protein Lactose Free?
I did not have any side effects like bloating. The digestive enzyme in ghost helps aid in the digestion of both protein and milk sugar. Lactase breaks down lactose. Lactase is in the digestive enzymes. Bromelain and protease break down protein. If you have issues with protein and lactose; digestive enzyme makes the product a happy experience.
When’s the Best Time to Drink Ghost Protein?
The combination of whey concentrate and isolate, are both fast digesting proteins. Effective protein for post workout. Low in fat and having no fiber, not making Ghost an ideal choice for MRE.
Macro Composition: 8. Blended protein like this is selling towards the weight loss and post-workout crowd. I wouldn’t recommend Ghost whey protein to physique competitors for daily use. Maybe for a treat. It’s definitely not keto-friendly. The low-fat content and fast digesting protein types, make it best post-workout.
Does Blueberry Toaster Pastry by Ghost Lifestyle Taste Good?
When I watch my favorite cooking shows, the chefs reviewing the food always say “When I tried your food, it reminds me of when I was a kid.” Blueberry Toaster Pastry, HANDS DOWN, this protein tastes like a Pop-Tart or Pastry Strudel. If you really want a treat, use low-fat milk. Tasted pretty good!
What Ghost Flavors are Available?
The amount of mouth-watering choices are going to leave you astonished. Flavors like…
- Cereal Milk
- Chips Ahoy!
- Cinnabon
- Coconut Ice Cream
- Coffee Ice Cream
- Fruity Cereal Milk
- Mashmallow Cereal Milk
- Milk Chocolate
- Nutter Butter
- Oreo
- Peanut Butter Cereal Milk
Just strictly looking at Amazon reviews. Ghost’s muscle building powder is sitting at an average of 4.5 out of 5 stars. Reviewers were crtical towards the follow flavors: chcoolate, cookie brands (like oreo and chips ahoy), and cereal milk flavor. Those reviewers were in the minority. Overall, users were very positive towards the flavors.
Flavor: 10, DAMN GOOD.
Is Ghost Whey Protein Good for You?
There is a lot to like about Ghost’s 100% Blended Protein: how the colorful container is put together, a SMELL PORT, clearly defined ingredients, and the taste. It’s worth the price tag.
However, there are some gripes: Ghost could offer a 5-pound container, it’s not budget-friendly ($39.99 for a 2-pound container, the only size), it’s an over-priced blended protein, the loyalty program is a nice thought but once you do the math, and it is not keto-friendly (if you’re part of that keto life).
Let’s be honest, $39.99 is a tough sell, but I think Ghost whey protein does enough good things that are overlooked, mainly packaging of the container, flavor profile, and a fantastic taste..
I have no problem recommending this protein for clients, the average gym-goer, or someone wanting a great tasting protein while trying to lose weight. However, you’re going to take a hit in the wallet.

Alternative Proteins to Ghost Whey Protein
If you’re making your purchase on strictly on taste. Here’s a pocket protein review on the following brands I recommend strictly on taste. If you’re considering either On Gold Standard whey protein vs Pure Choice Farms Cold Filtered Isolate. Read my Pure Choice Farms vs ON Gold Standard.
BSN Syntha-6 Whey Protein
The best protein I love drinking. BSN Syntha-6 does some things great. But leaves a lot to be desired. I gave a 68% to BSN Syntha-6 due to the lack of an amino acid table. Plus, BSN “forgot” to list all ingredients used in their protein powder. I would totally purchase Syntha-6 as an MRE protein powder. Buy direct from Amazon with my affiliate link.
Alani Nu Whey Protein
Alani Nu whey protein is the cheapest protein you can purchase at Walmart. The exclusive 15 serving container is a great investment. Tastes great. No worry about bloating or GI distress. Thank you digestive enzymes. Scored a 78% due to no amino acid profile provided. Amazon affiliate link.
Clean Simple Eats Grass Fed Whey Protein
Clean Simple Eats grass fed whey protein earned a 77%. Technically a grass fed protein. When compared to other brands not grass fed, you feel cheated. Clean Simple Eats protein does a lot of things average. The only home run hit for Clean Simple Eats was the flavor. Purchase with my Amazon affiliate link.
ON Gold Standard Whey Protein
Optimum Nutrition’s Gold Standard has a gold medal on the bag for a reason. It’s the optimum standard for blended protein powders. 18 great flavors. ON Gold Standard, whey protein earned an industry leader grade, 92%. Amazon affiliate link to purchase.
Pure Choice Farms Cold Filtered Isolate
Pure Choice Farms is the best protein powder you can buy. If you are lactose intolerant, Pure Choice Farms is virtually lactose free. Multiple price points to fit your budget. Less than 7 ingredients per flavor. Pure Choice Farms is the cleanest protein powder in the market. Pure Choice Farms earned a leading 98%. The knock… The flavor profile isn’t as pronounced compared to the heavy hitters above. Amazon purchase link.
