📖 Dymatize ISO 100 Details
Dymatize ISO is advertised as a super protein compared to whey protein concentrate and isolate. The reason why Dymatize ISO 100 is superior to those protein sources is through the hydrolysis process.
The hydrolysis process further removes fat, carbohydrates, and lactose. Hydrolyzed protein is commonly known as pre-digested protein, making it faster to absorb by the body with fewer calories. Of course, it comes with a heftier price tag.
Here is what is advertised when purchasing Dymatize ISO 100
- Pre- and post-workout protein with virtually no digestive issues
- Build muscle
- Faster muscle recovery
- Super easy mix with a shaker or spoon
Is hydrolyzed whey protein isolate superior to whey protein isolate? Regarding faster digestion and lower lactose, yes. Hydrolysis makes the protein faster and easier for the body to absorb.
As I share later in this unbiased Dymatize ISO100 Hydrolyzed Whey Protein review, hydrolyzed and whey isolate are neck-and-neck in muscle building if you have the money to buy a protein powder that is easier for your body to absorb.
🏋️♂️ Is Dymatize Hydro a Meal Replacement or Post Workout Shake?
Examining the two protein sources found in Dymatize Hydro: hydrolyzed isolate and isolate. Dymatize Hydro is best utilized as a post-workout shake.
Hydrolyzed isolate digests faster than regular isolate. Due to Dymatize Hydro’s price point and fast-digesting nature, I would not recommend ISO100 as a meal replacement. That would be a misuse of finances.
💪 How Many Scoops of Dymatize Hydro Post Workout?
If you’re using Dymatize Hydro post-workout, you want to know how many scoops you should take. I always state the academic research study examining “How Much Protein to Maximize Muscle Growth. ”
The article states that to stimulate muscle protein synthesis, you should aim for a minimum of 25 grams of protein, with up to 3 grams of naturally occurring leucine.
To cover those numbers, you should use 1.1 scoops post-workout to stimulate MPS. However, with only 20 servings per container, using my scoop recommendation would leave you around 18 servings.
Or, mix Dymatize with skim milk. The USDA’s leucine information states that one cup of skim milk offers 8 grams of protein with .8 grams of leucine. Or use a cup of skim Fairlife milk. You will surely exceed the 25 grams of protein with 3 grams of leucine.
🛒 Where to Buy Dymatize Protein?
Dymatize offers a unique shopping experience when purchasing ISO100. Going to the website, you’d be expected to purchase directly.
Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. Dymatize will send you a list of locations from which to purchase from certified resellers. If you are not interested in making a drive, Dymatize will direct you to Amazon, where I purchased my 20-serving container.
Purchasing from Amazon provides all the flavors and sizing options. If you’re going for the value containers, the prices and serving will vary depending on the flavor.
1.3 pounds container, $30.39, $1.52 per serving (S&S $1.44).
5 pounds container, $80.72, $1.06 per serving (S&S $1.01).
Get the more enormous container if you want the best value for a high-quality protein powder!
🤑 Why is Dymatize ISO 100 So Expensive?
The reason why Dymatize ISO 100 is so expensive is due to hydrolysis. What is hydrolysis?
In an article, I answered, “What are the benefits of hydrolyzed protein?” I shared that “hydrolyzed whey protein further removes the fat and lactose (more than whey protein isolate).”
Simply put, the hydrolysis of protein powder further removes more lactose and fat. This information is shared in an academic research study titled “Advances in Low-Lactose/Lactose-Free Dairy Products and Their Production.”
You may ask yourself, “Is Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Better Than Whey Protein Isolate?” As you guessed, I answered that question using the link. I’ve got you covered if you don’t want to click the link.
Whey protein isolate and hydrolyzed protein are nearly neck-and-neck to stimulate muscle protein synthesis. It just depends on how you tolerate lactose and how much you’re willing to spend on the protein powder.
💸 Does Dymatize Have a Money-Back Guarantee?
Dymatize offers a 30-day return policy. However, the stipulation is that the product needs to be new and not opened. A 100% return may happen if Dyamtize causes an error.
To start a refund, call the Dyamtize Consumer Hotline at (888) 334-LEAN (5326) to start the return process.
This Dymatize ISO100 Hydrolyzed Whey Protein review is off to a great start. You’re getting great value for a virtually lactose-free protein.
Value: 7.5 out of 10. Dymatize is an expensive protein to drink, especially with only 20 servings per container. However, you are getting a protein powder that is 100% US-made with an Informed Choice seal of approval.
Plus, if you’re tired of dealing with digestive issues with your protein powder, you’ll pay a little more for a happy stomach.
If you can afford it and are willing to limit your flavor profile, the value containers are the best bang for your buck. Especially at the subscribe and save, $1.01 is a great value!
⚛️ Does Dymatize Amino Spike?
Dymatize Hydro is not amino spiked.
On the container, you will see a general amino acid profile with percentages examining the amino acid makeup. Some companies will do this as well. Unfortunately, that’s not a legit amino acid profile.
Dymatize takes it one further instead of trying to search on the web. There is a QR code where you can scan your bottle to transfer you to the direct location of the amino acid profile.
So, what is Dymatize ISO100 amino acid profile?
🧬 What is Dymatize ISO 100 Amino Acid Profile?
The amount of BCAAs found in one scoop of Dymatize ISO 100 is as follows
- Leucine 2.677 grams
- Isoleucine 1.421 grams
- Valine 1.447 grams
Here is the complete amino acid profile for Dymatize ISO 100.
📜 Is Dymatize ISO 100 Third Party Tested?
Dymatize ISO 100 features a third-party seal from Informed Choice, which certifies that the product has been tested for banned substances. You can check the expiration date on Dymatize Hydro at this link.
Dymatize Hydro undergoes rigorous third-party testing to ensure it is free from banned substances. This thorough testing assures athletes of the product’s safety and underscores the high-quality standards maintained during production.
While the Informed Choice certification primarily focuses on the absence of banned substances, the adherence to high-quality manufacturing standards suggests that the nutrition facts listed on Dymatize Hydro are likely accurate.
What are your thoughts on this unbiased Dyamtize ISO100 Hydrolyzed Whey Protein review so far? Does seeing an amino acid profile with the Informed Choice seal make you feel better about your purchase?
Amino Spiking: 10 out of 10. Dymatize Hydro states, “All amino acids are naturally occurring in protein.” Having Informed Choice on the label will help persuade you to purchase this high-quality protein.
🥤 How To Mix ISO 100 Protein
ISO 100 is easy to follow mixing directions.

- Shake & enjoy
Following Dyamtize’s liquid recommendation, Dymatize Hydro is nearly flawless. There are tiny specs on the side of the shaker.

I don’t like Dymatize Hydro’s GMO ingredients. The GMO qualification likely stems from the use of soy. Here’s why.
In an article examining isolate vs. concentrate whey protein comparisons, I shared that companies that use soy lecithin, a low-cost emulsifier commonly used in protein powders, can cause GI issues for some consumers.
Why save money on a protein powder that is nearly lactose-free but uses a GMO emulsifier that could cause digestive issues?
🌍 Does Dymatize Hydro Use Internationally Sourced Ingredients?
Most protein powders internationally source their protein to save money. Dymatize went all out and printed an American flag. All that’s needed to say, “Born in the USA.” *Chef kiss*
What are your thoughts on my unbiased Dyamtize ISO100 Hydrolyzed Whey Protein review? Does it matter that a protein powder is internationally sourced, or do you prefer your protein powders to be American-made?
Ingredients List: 8.0 out of 10. I don’t like to see soy in my protein powder because I have issues digesting it. Dymatize spent money on a hydrolyzed product that was nearly lactose-free and then used a GMO product. The use of a natural sweetener and artificial sweeteners is annoying. I do appreciate seeing American-made protein in American protein powders.

As always, the protein percent will depend on the type of flavor you select for ISO 100. There are a total of 11 different flavors you can select.
Cookies & Cream offers 81% protein per serving. I got that by taking 25 grams of protein / 1 scoop serving size of 31 grams = 80.6%.

🍨 Is Dymatize ISO 100 Lactose Free?
I wrote an article examining is whey isolate low lactose? And as I shared in the above section, “Why is Dymatize ISO 100 So Expensive?”
Dymatize ISO 100 is nearly lactose-free due to the further filtration of whey protein isolate. Hydrolyzed whey isolate may not cause lactose symptoms if you have mild to moderate lactose intolerance. Based on personal experience, I did not experience any GI discomfort.
It needs to be mentioned. Dymatize Hydro is not certified, nor does it claim to be gluten-free.
Besides the amount of protein per serving, what do you read about the nutrition facts for protein powders? Do you think the “Nutrition Facts” grade should be higher in this unbiased Dymatize ISO100 Hydrolyzed Whey Protein review?
Nutrition Facts: 8.0 out of 10. Dymatize Hydro offers a significant amount of protein per serving. Averaging all flavors, 81% protein per serving is enormous, especially when purchasing at a national retailer. With virtually no lactose, it is a massive benefit for people who can’t digest dairy.
👌Does ISO 100 Taste Good?
If you’re in person or visiting a preferred Dymatize seller, you will see a picture of what Dymatize ISO 100 expected flavor.
Cookies & Cream shows Oreo cookies with what appears to be ice cream. Does it meet the picture’s expectations? YUP.
Even more surprising is that stevia is one of two zero-calorie sweeteners used in Dymatize Hydro. I’m not a fan of Stevia, but there is just enough in ISO 100 to put a smile on your face.
Some people may not like the cream texture in ISO100. I didn’t mind it.
I would purchase it again. Furthermore, I would purchase the 5-pound container and be happy drinking Cookies & Cream for 70 servings.

⭐️ What is the Best ISO 100 Flavor? (Based Amazon on Reviews)
Based on Amazon reviews, Dymatize Hydro stands 4.7 out of 5.0 stars. The total amount of reviews is an astounding 22,000.
What flavors did reviewers have with Dymatize Hydro?
Oddly enough, the routine culprits are based around the chocolate and Pebbles line: Fudge Brownie, Chocolate, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cocoa Pebbles, and Fruity Pebbles. Examining the written reviews, most flavors appear at least once in these non-favorable reviews.
Some users shared that the sweetener’s profile was too much due to the use of sucralose and stevia. These same reviewers feel the ingredient profile could have been revamped.
Combining one- and two-star reviews resulted in 880 comments out of 22,000. So, what did the overwhelming majority feel about Dymatize Hydro doing fantastic?
Most reviewers shared that the negative comments misinterpreted their flavor profile. Routinely touted as 5-star players are Fruity Pebbles, Cookies & Cream, Chocolate, Chocolate Fudge, and Chocolate Peanut Butter.
It is worth mentioning that none of the Dunkin and strawberry flavors were reviewed.
What’s your go-to flavor when selecting a protein powder for the first time? Do you think Cookies & Cream should have received a higher score in this unbiased Dymatize ISO100 Hydrolyzed Whey Protein review?
Flavor: 8.5 out of 10. Cookies & Cream is delicious. However, it is worth mentioning that some people may prefer to avoid the cream texture in their protein shakes. I could happily drink Dymatize Hydro for 70 plus servings.
🏁 Unbiased Dymatize ISO100 Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Review – Final Thoughts
Dymatize Hydro hit a lot of home runs. In my original review of Dymatize ISO100, the protein earned 90%, making it an industry leader.
However, this (re)review isn’t too far off. Here is what I didn’t like about Dymatize Hydro
- Two protein sources of primarily hydrolyzed protein with isolate
- The use of natural and artificial sweeteners
- Soy is used as an emulsifier (may cause digestive issues)
- GMO statement is listed, that is from Soy
Why offer a near-lactose-free protein that will cause no digestive issues, then use GMO Soy that will cause GI issues? I’m always bewildered when I see an artificial zero-calorie sweetener with a zero-calorie natural sweetener.
I understand why Dymatize Hydro is a two-protein source combining hydrolyly hydrolyzed and regular isolates. A protein powder that is 100% hydrolyzed isolate is expensive.
What does Dymatize ISO100 get right?
- Low amount of lactose, making it easy to digest
- 100% USA sourced protein
- Easy to mix
- Great tasting
- Affordable
- 3rd party tested
- Transparent label
Dymatize Hydro is an excellent protein powder that is worth your money. Is it an industry leader, or not necessarily? You can’t deny the value that is being offered on a budget.
Yes, you are only getting 20 servings. They are very high-quality and offer minimal GI issues.
