This Ghost Protein Powder review is a special request and an updated version of the Blueberry Toaster Struddle review. Is Ghost protein good for you? Let’s explore Cinnabon Ghost Protein’s unique features.
Is Ghost Protein Good for You? A No-Nonsense Review
If you’re wondering if Ghost protein is good for you, here’s the scoop. Ghost Whey packs 25g of protein per serving and features digestive enzymes for easy digestion. Like Cinnabon, the flavors are delicious, but it falls short with potential amino spiking, a high price, and an unknown protein origin. Plus, without third-party testing, Transparency is lacking. While it is a tasty shake, serious gym-goers might want something more reliable for gains due to the lower protein quality.
- 🥤 Easy to mix
- 👍 Digestive enzymes for easy digestion
- 🍰 Tasty flavors (Cinnabon is a hit!)
- 💸 Expensive
- ❓ Potential amino spiking
- 📉 Low-quality protein
- 🧐 Lacks third-party testing
- 🌍 Protein origin unknown

📖 Cinnabon Ghost Protein Review Details
Here is what we will be examining in this Cinnabon Ghost Protein Review.
- Are the collabs flavors offered by Whey by Ghost Lifestyle worth it?
- Does the enzyme blend found in Whey by Ghost Lifestyle help offset bloating?
- Is Whey by Ghost Lifestyle third-party tested?
- Is Whey by Ghost Lifestyle worth your purchase?
- Where does Whey by Ghost Lifestyle source its protein blend?
I realize that Whey by Ghost Lifestyle no longer offers coconut ice cream in a flavor, but I’ll still review that Ghost Protein Powder. Let’s explore some other important aspects of this Cinnabon Ghost Protein Review.
💪 After Training Shake: How Many Scoops of Protein Post Workout?
How Many Scoops of Ghost Whey Isolate Do You Need? Research suggests that to stimulate muscle growth post-workout, you need a minimum of 25 grams of protein, with up to 3 grams of leucine. In one serving of Ghost Whey Protein, you get 25 grams of muscle-building protein with 3.139 grams of leucine.
You need one scoop of Ghost Powder Protein at face value to stimulate MPS. However, based on my professional opinion, Ghost Powder Protein is amino-spiked. I’ll discuss more in the section ‘Is Ghost Protein Powder Amino Spiked?’
If you use Ghost Powder Protein post-workout, I would use 8 ounces of high-proteinThe. The USDA’s leucine information skim milk and one scoop of Ghost Whey Protein. Leucine information shared by the USDA states that one cup of skim milk offers 8 grams of protein with .8 grams of leucine. One cup of high-protein skim milk. You will surely exceed the 25 grams of protein with 3 grams of leucine.
Based on my professional opinion and academic research, Ghost Whey Protein can be incorporated into a calorie deficit program. However, dieting involves reducing your daily caloric intake or increasing your daily physical activity. Amino-spiked proteins do not keep you fully satiated throughout the day. As I discussed in my article, “Is Raw Nutrition A Good Brand?” I share the following.
- High-quality protein isolates may help keep you satiated longer
- High-quality protein powders share an amino acid profile
- Finally, high-quality protein powders are not amino-spiked
Unfortunately, Ghost Protein Powder will leave you hungry and may not offer enough protein to stimulate muscle growth. As shared in the previous section, if you are using Ghost Whey Isolate, I think you should use one cup of high-protein skim milk with one scoop of Ghost Whey Isolate.
Here is my list (so far) of potentially amino-spiked protein powders that I’ve reviewed.
- Rule 1 Whey Blend Review
- Rule 1 Isolate Review
- Rule 1 Source7 Protein Review

💰 Where Can You Buy Ghost Protein Powder?
Ghost whey protein is no longer exclusive to GNC. You can essentially purchase Ghost whey anywhere online. Regarding physical locations, your best bet is still GNC, but I’ve seen it available at big-name retailers.
To avoid shipping costs on orders under $49, consider buying directly from Amazon.
There is an advantage to buying directly through Ghost Lifestyle. 25% off, subscribe and save. Ghost also offers holiday sales. The 25% off S&S is not available with Coconut Ice Cream and Nutter Butter Chocolate.
There is only one container size, 27 servings per container.
- Normal price, $44.99, $1.66 per serving
- Amazon S&S, $42.74, $1.58 per serving
- Ghost S&S, $33.74, $1.25 per serving
I got a Black Friday deal at 25% off. The 25% off sale does not stack with Ghost’s S&S.

💸 Why is Ghost Protein So Expensive?
Another frequently reoccurring question on forums and Reddit is: Why is ghost protein so expensive?
If you’ve been following my reviews, you know I have specific metrics for protein powder reviews. Examining the ingredient list is important to the review. Based on my professional experience, as soon as I saw digestive enzymes in the ingredient list, I thought protein powder was low-quality.
So, why is Ghost Protein so expensive?
You’re paying for brand recognition, marketing hype, recognized flavor collaboration, and a fancy, textured container. You are paying for a perceived high-quality protein. Unfortunately, Ghost Powder Protein is not worth your money.
Price: 1 out of 10. The amount of marketing hype and positive reviews for Ghost Powder Protein is through the roof. However, the perceived “value” you receive, especially the protein quality, will break your heart (and your wallet). Here’s where it all falls apart in this Cinnabon Ghost Protein Review.
⚛️ How to Spot Amino Spiking in Protein Powder
Research suggests that the naturally occurring amount of leucine in protein powders should range between 9% and 11%. The average amount is 10%. There will be factors with some protein powders, mainly if the protein powder is 100% grass-fed.
There are a couple of questions that we need answers
- Does Ghost Isolate Protein have an amino acid profile?
- Is Ghost Isolate Protein a high-quality protein?
- How does Ghost Isolate Protein compare to Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey?
🤯 Is Ghost Protein Transparent?
When you pick up a container of Ghost whey, you will notice something unique advertised on the label: Full Disclosure Protein. The label breaks down how much-blended protein powder you get in each serving.
- Whey Protein Isolate 90%, 12.5 grams of protein
- Whey Protein Concentrate 80%, 10 grams of protein
- Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Isolate, 2.5 grams of protein
However, other protein powders have shared that they offer a “transparent label.” Ghost Isolate Protein is advertising this as a marketing ploy to develop trust in the Ghost brand.
Unfortunately, Ghost Protein is not as transparent when examining the amino acid profile.
🧬 What is the Amino Acid Profile for Ghost Protein Powder?
The amino acid profile for Ghost Protein Powder is not listed on any container or shared on the website. I had to contact Ghost Lifestyle Customer Service to request a copy. As I shared at the beginning of this section, the amount of naturally occurring leucine in protein powders should be 10%.
Based on the information on a container of Ghost Protein Powder, Ghost Whey Isolate offers 25 grams of protein. If we were to do the math for Ghost Isolate Protein, here is the estimated amount of leucine that should occur. I’ll calculate the protein powder if Ghost Protein was advertised as “grass-fed whey.”
Percent Leucine | Estimated grams of leucine of Ghost Protein Powder |
9% | 2.25g |
10% | 2.5g |
11% | 2.75g |
12% | 3.0g |
12.5% | 3.125g |
Ghost Lifestyle told me that one serving of Ghost Whey Isolate offers 3.139 grams of leucine. Offering almost 13% leucine per serving falls outside the suggested amount of leucine per serving. I contacted Ghost Lifestyle requesting a Certificate of Analysis and where they source their protein powder.
I will update this Cinnabon Ghost Protein Review when I get that information. Let’s answer the big question on everyone’s mind: Is Ghost Protein Powder Amino Spiked?
🧪 Is Ghost Protein Powder Amino Spiked?
Let’s answer the big question on everyone’s mind: Is Ghost Protein Powder amino spiked? Browsing the container, you will see a label that says “Full disclosure protein.” Underneath that, a list and the first statement: “no amino spiking.” Claims are one thing; being certified and verified is another. What are your thoughts? Is Ghost Protein Powder amino spiked?
Based on my research and professional opinion, Ghost Protein Powder is an amino-spiked protein. Research suggests that the average amount of naturally occurring leucine in conventional protein powders is 10%. The amount of leucine in Ghost Protein Powder is outside the normal range of conventional protein at 12.5%.
As shared in the previous section, if Ghost Lifestyle shares a Certificate of Analysis, third-party testing, and country of origin sourcing of their whey, I will update this Cinnabon Ghost Protein Review. In the meantime, let us compare Ghost Protein Powder to ON Gold Standard Whey.
🆚 Ghost Protein Powder vs ON Gold Standard Whey
There are a lot of similarities between Ghost Protein Powder when compared to ON Gold Standard Whey.
- Recognized brand names
- Blended protein powders
- Transparent label
However, let’s briefly compare the two protein powders and their protein quality. Click here for my full, unbiased ON Gold Standard 100 Whey Review.
Cinnabon Ghost Protein | ON Gold Standard(Vanilla Ice Cream) | |
Leucine | 3.139 grams | 2.6 grams |
Leucine Percent | 12.56% | 10.83% |
Total BCAAs | 6.733 grams | 5.5 grams |
Protein / Serving | 25 grams | 24 grams |
Calories | 130 | 120 |
Serving Size | 34 grams | 31 grams |
Compared to ON Gold Standard, Cinnabon Ghost Protein may seem like a high-quality protein powder. However, the big red flag with Cinnabon Ghost Protein is the amount of BCAAs per serving. The ratio of BCAAs to Protein is 1.1 grams of BCAAs to 5 grams of protein.
Something is not adding up with Whey by Ghost Lifestyle.
🔍 Is Ghost Protein Powder Third-Party Tested?
No statements are found on the website or any container of third-party testing. I reached out to Ghost Lifestyle for more in-depth information regarding third-party testing. I’ll update this Cinnabon Ghost Protein Review when I receive clarification from the company.
🔍Update: Ghost Protein Powder and Third Party Testing🔍
Ghost Lifestyle was nice enough to respond reasonably to my request for the following information: third-party certification, protein origin, and certificate of analysis. Let’s start with the easiest and work on the most difficult request.
Certificate of Analysis
“We are unable to share our certificates.” However, we assure you that quality is at the forefront, and we will never put out a less-than-quality product. The rep shared that Ghost Lifestyle uses ISO17025 to ensure That It does not put out less-than-desirable products. What is ISO17025?
ISO 17025 ensures that labs are performing their tests correctly and that their equipment is working well. However, it doesn’t specifically check for amino spiking in protein supplements. It just ensures that the lab can perform tests properly.
Protein Origin
Essentially, Ghost Lifestyle’s response was a vague non-answer. They shared, “Our protein powder is manufactured in the US with domestic and foreign ingredients.” They did not want to share where they sourced their protein. My statement stands for these countries where Ghost may source their protein: India, China, and South America.
Third Party Certifications
Ghost Lifestyle shares that they have earned the following certifications: cGMP, NSF, and BRC. These earned certifications provide a level of safety for consumers. cGMP, NSF, and BRC certifications ensure that supplements are made safely and follow good manufacturing practices. They help ensure the product is clean, correctly labeled, and contaminant-free. However, they do not specifically check for amino spiking.
Amino Spiking: 1 out of 10. Based on research and my professional opinion, Ghost Protein Powder is an amino-spiked protein. Based on the amino acid profile shared by Ghost Lifestyle Protein, the amount of leucine found in Ghost Isolate falls outside the suggested leucine range for conventional protein powders.

🤝 How to Make A Ghost Protein Shake
Cinnabon Ghost Protein advertises that it can be used at these times
- Morning
- Post-workout
- Anytime
- Before bed
However, I would not use it before bed due to the fast-digesting nature of Cinnabon Ghost Protein.
Here is the mixing direct for Cinnabon Ghost Whey
- One scoop
- Use 5-6oz of water or beverage of your choice
- Shake
Cinnabon Ghost Whey mixes great with no issues. Small cake bits are on the shaker wall, but if you use this post-workout, you’ll be happy to shake and leave the gym.
🥄 Does Ghost Whey Protein Come With A Scoop?
I packed the scoop like I was packing brown sugar. The label advertises what you’re getting with a scoop.
Protein Shake Mix: 9 out of 10. Ghost Whey isn’t a 100% clean mix. You’ll still have powder specs on the shaker walls, but you won’t encounter any dry spots when slamming this shake.
🧪 Ghost Protein Ingredients
Regarding quality and transparencTransparencyncTransparency with its unique flavor profiles and clean ingredient list. This review will break down the Ghost whey ingredients for two standout flavors: Cinnabon and Coconut Ice Cream.
Let’s dive into the ingredients that make these flavors special and whether they live up to the brand’s high standards for taste and performance.
Ingredient | Purpose |
Protein (Whey protein isolate 90%, Whey protein concentrate, Hydrolyzed whey protein isolate) | The primary protein sources found in Ghost Whey Protein. |
Natural and artificial flavor | Adds flavor to improve taste and palatability. |
Salt | Flavoring |
Cinnabon Makara Cinnamon Powder | Official Cinnabon cinnamon flavoring |
Digestive Enzymes (Proteases, Bromelain, Lactase) | Aids in the digestion and absorption of protein, reducing the risk of digestive discomfort. |
Xanthan Gum | It helps improve the mixability and texture of the protein powder. |
Cellulose Gum | A zero-calorie artificial sweetener is used to add sweetness without adding calories. |
Sucralose | A zero-calorie artificial sweetener used to add sweetness without adding calories. |
Is there a difference between flavors in Ghost whey ingredients? The only difference between the two flavors is that Cinnabon Cinnamon flavoring is listed.
🌍 Where Does Ghost Protein Source Their Protein?
Why is knowing where Ghost Lifestyle sources its protein such an important topic? It answers these questions:
- Internationally sourced protein is usually lower quality unless advertised as grass-fed (Ghost Protein is not grass-fed).
- The EU banned the use of growth hormones on their dairy cows (Ghost Protein is not advertised as a hormone-free protein).
- Whey sourced internationally usually comes from India, China, or potentially South America.
I did share that I contacted Ghost Lifestyle requesting third-party certification, a certificate of analysis, and the country of origin for their whey. I’ll update this Cinnabon Ghost Protein Review when I receive more information.
What are your thoughts so far? Is Ghost Protein good for you?
Protein Ingredients: 6.5 out of 10. I love the ingredient profile of Ghost whey. What’s my reason? Digestive enzymes! The only thing I don’t enjoy about Ghost Protein is its tri-protein blend.
✅ Is Ghost Protein Powder Healthy?
During this Cinnabon Ghost Protein Review, you may have two questions in mind: Is Ghost Protein good for you? And is Ghost Protein Powder Healthy?
I have not had any issues drinking Ghost Whey Protein or any sideffects. Let’s examine Cinnabon Ghost Protein nutrition facts.
Serving Size: 34 grams
Calories 130
- Total Fat 1g
- Sodium 190mg
- Total Carbohydrates 4g
- Dietary Fiber 0g
- Total Sugars 1g
- Protein 25 grams
As a post-workout, Cinnabon Ghost Protein is not what you expect. There is no fiber, it is somewhat low in sodium, and just enough carbohydrates for flavor. As a post-workout, is Ghost Protein good for you? Examining strictly what is being advertised, sure.
As you learned, Ghost Powder Protein is an amino-spiked protein. Falling outside the acceptable range of naturally occurring leucine, I believe Ghost Protein is not a good post-workout shake.
🍗 How Much Protein Does Ghost Protein Have Per Serving?
25 grams of protein per serving / 34 gram serving size = 74% protein per serving
🍨 Does Ghost Protein Have Dairy?
Ghost Protein Powders offers three types of dairy-based protein powders. However, one of the three hydrolyzed whey protein isolates removed most of the lactose. Low-quality protein powders usually offer a robust digestive enzyme profile, which is a plus.
I did not experience any digestive issues after drinking Ghost Whey Protein. Furthermore, Ghost Whey Isolate is labeled soy-free and gluten-free if you’re sensitive to soy and gluten. Here is a table of the digestive enzymes found in Ghost Protein Cinnabon.
Digestive Enzyme | Description |
Proteases | Break down proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids, aiding in protein digestion and utilization for muscle recovery. |
Bromelain | It breaks down lactose, benefiting individuals with lactose intolerance by reducing the risk of digestive issues when consuming dairy-based protein. |
Lactase | Breaks down lactose, benefiting individuals with lactose intolerance by reducing the risk of digestive issues when consuming dairy-based protein. |

Nutrition Facts 6.5 out of 10. Why not score 7.5 out of 10? We know that Whey by Ghost Lifestyle is amino-spiked. Without a certificate of analysis and third-party testing, you should expect more when you see the claim, “No amino spiking.”
😋 Does Ghost Protein Powder Taste Good?
Everyone researches protein powders for the main reason of taste. Let’s answer the question: Does Ghost Protein Powder taste good? I have two different flavors: Cinnabon and Coconut Ice Cream.
Coconut Ice Cream
I’m a coconut and ice cream fan, so this should be an instant win. The flavor profile of coconut ice cream was present. I used milk; I would be flying head-over-heels—solid 8.
Cinnabon
Easily a damn great protein flavor. Mixed with water, you get the taste of a liquified Cinnabon cinnamon roll. What’s nice about Cinnabon, the actual cinnamon powder used in Cinnabon rolls is used in this protein powder.

🏁 Cinnabon Ghost Protein Review – Final Thoughts
Closing out this Cinnabon Ghost Protein review, I feel this protein is overpriced due to the lack of third-party verifications and claims made on the container. I expected more at $45 per container, especially a higher-quality protein powder.
I’ll start with what makes Cinnabon Ghost Protein a great purchase: its amazing flavor, mixability, digestive enzymes, and transparent label claim. Who should use Cinnabon Ghost Protein?
I firmly believe that Whey by Ghost Lifestyle is for people who are new to supplements, have a sensitive stomach, and want something that tastes amazing. With that shared, what are some of the major missteps with Cinnabon Ghost Protein?
- Amino spiked protein (falls outside the acceptable range of naturally occurring leucine)
- Not 3rd party verified or certified
- What is the source location of the whey?
- Overpriced for a low-quality protein powder
- Questionable claims of “Full disclosure protein”

🎬 Is Ghost Protein Good for You?
In my initial ghost.protein review, I scored it with 85%, and it was worth a purchase. This is why we do (re)reviews. I got it wrong, or I didn’t do my homework.
Is Ghost Protein good for you?
Based on my research, Ghost Protein powder is an amino-spiked protein. Ghost Lifestyle’s leucine share falls outside the naturally occurring range of 11%. Due to no third-party verification or certification, I believe there are better post-workout protein powders.
Can Cinnabon Ghost Protein be used with a healthy weight loss and fitness program? Or can it be utilized daily to help supplement your daily protein intake? Yes.
However, if you’re a gym rat, you don’t want to waste your time with low-quality supplements that will not help stimulate muscle growth. Sure, Cinnabon Ghost Protein may taste amazing. Remember, the amino acid profile is not verified or is Whey by Ghost Lifestyle third-party checked.
