Unbiased Isopure Zero Carb Protein Review
Isopure Whey Protein Isolate Powder could be a protein powder used by people living a keto diet. In this Isopure Zero Carb Protein Review, we will examine if the protein powder is worth having in your cupboard while dieting. Plus, we will examine the claims found on the container (and on the website). Finally, in this Isopure Zero Carb Protein Review, we will examine if this protein powder is worth a purchase for gym-goers trying to pack on muscle.
In my Isopure Infusion Review, the clear whey isolate earned an unimpressive score of 68%. My biggest issue with that product was the lack of an amino acid profile.
Will Isopure Protein Creamy Vanilla fare any better? Let’s get this Isopure Zero Carb Protein Review going!
Isopure Zero Carb Protein Review: Low-Carb But Lacking Transparency
Isopure Zero Carb Protein is a keto-friendly protein powder, great for those avoiding carbs and sugar. However, while it excels in mixability and taste (especially Vanilla), transparency issues plague this product. The lack of a complete amino acid profile leaves you questioning the quality of protein you’re getting. For muscle-building? 🏋️♂️ It’s fast-digesting but may not pack the punch of other whey isolates due to potential amino spiking. Ideal for low-carb, high-protein needs, but competitors like ISO 100 offer more transparency.
- Great mixability 🚀
- Low carb & sugar-free 🍫
- No amino acid profile ⚠️
- Potential amino spiking ⛔
- Uses artificial sweeteners 🚫
- Unverified rBST-free claims 🐄❓
- Unclear international sourcing 🌍

🧬 What Kind of Protein Is Isopure?
Isopure Protein Zero Carb Zero Sugar is 100% whey protein isolate, which is exactly what is advertised on the bag. However, Isopure Protein Zero Carb Zero Sugar may seem like a protein powder for women at home, but it is also a fantastic protein for busy moms on the go.
Examining the statement “supports healthy skin & nails” clearly indicates that this is a protein powder for women at home. I should ask if this protein powder is for women at home and if it is effective in helping women with their weight loss goals.
🌀 Isopure Protein Alternative
If you’re looking for a protein powder for women at home or a busy professional mom who’s always on the run, a great protein powder may help you maintain your energy throughout the day or help keep you full until lunch. Fortunately, I have a list of protein powders that you should avoid.
This list of protein powders for women at home is advertised as very similar to Isopure Pure Isolate. Finally, these protein powders may seem like a great value; however, although they are advertised as protein powder for women at home, they are very low quality.
However, if you’re a woman having a difficult time reaching your daily protein intake, then these protein powders may be for you. I’ve personally reviewed all of these protein powders. Click the link for a full, detailed analysis of each brand.

🥤 Can I Use Isopure As A Meal Replacement?
Individuals looking to lose weight may wonder if Isopure Whey Protein Isolate Powder could be used as a meal replacement. The nutrition facts on Isopure Whey Protein Isolate Powder show no fat, carbohydrates, or fiber. Using Isopure Whey Protein Isolate Powder alone will not do enough to keep you satiated. If you want to use Isopure as a meal replacement, I suggest using Isopure Whey Protein Isolate Powder with your protein smoothies.
⚖️ Is Isopure Whey Protein Good For Weight Loss
Isopure Protein Vanilla may be a good tool for fighting hunger. Doubling a serving may help you stay full longer. Mixing Isopure Protein Vanilla with Greek yogurt or a baking recipe can do wonders. Isopure does a great job advertising different recipes to manage your sweet tooth to sweet treats.
However, I do have to share that you must examine the protein source found in Isopure Protein Vanilla: Whey Protein Isolate. Research has shared that whey protein isolate is a fast-digesting protein that may be best utilized as a post-workout protein shake. This means that it’ll be digested within 30 to 45 minutes.
One last piece of information about Isopure Protein Vanilla and weight loss. Research has shared that protein powders, not amino spiked, will keep you full longer than a free-form amino acid drink. The information I’ve discovered about the Isopure Protein Vanilla may be an amino-spiked protein.
If your goal is to stay full until your next meal, you are best using Isopure Protein Vanilla as a protein enricher with your yogurts, oatmeals, or smoothies to stay satiated longer. This brings us to the next point in this Isopure Protein Low Carb Review.
🥑 Is Isopure Whey Protein Keto Friendly?
You will notice zero total carbohydrates when examining the nutrition facts and ingredients list on a bag of Isopure Zero Carb Whey Protein Powder Creamy Vanilla. However, if you’re someone trying to eliminate any artificial sweeteners while dieting, I have to share that sucralose and acesulfame potassium that depends on the flavor you select.
🏋️♂️ After Training Shake: How Many Scoops of Protein Post Workout
If you’re someone using Isopure Creamy Vanilla Whey Isolate Protein, you may be wondering if one serving will be enough to stimulate muscle growth and recovery after a tough round at the gym. How many Isopure Creamy Vanilla Whey Isolate Protein scoops do you need after training? Research suggests that to stimulate muscle growth post-workout, you need a minimum of 25 grams of protein, with up to 3 grams of leucine.
Here is what we know about Isopure Creamy Vanilla Whey Isolate Protein: one serving offers 25 grams of protein. However, when contacting Isopure about the specific amino acid profile, the information is proprietary, which is not a good sign of a high-quality protein powder. I suggest using Isopure Creamy Vanilla Whey Isolate Protein as a post workout shake.
Use high-protein skim milk. Leucine information shared by the USDA states that one cup of skim milk offers 8 grams of protein with .8 grams of leucine. Or just use a cup of high-protein skim (13 grams of protein, 1.3 grams of leucine) and one serving of Isopure Creamy Vanilla Whey Isolate Protein. You will surely exceed the 25 grams of protein with 3 grams of leucine.
💪 Is Isopure Good for Muscle Gain?
There needs to be greater consistency between the ingredients listed on the physical package and various online outlets. The ingredients list on Isopure Whey Protein Isolate Powder does not state L-glutamine. However, online stores show L-glutamine as an unlisted ingredient. This is my rationale for believing that pure whey protein isolate powder is an amino-spiked protein.
Based on my research, there are better choices than Isopure for building muscle. Isopure’s lack of transparency, including its disclosure that its amino acid profile is proprietary and its failure to list L-glutamine, is a major concern for individuals with muscle-building goals.
Better choices are available for protein powders that can help you build muscle. Unfortunately, I would not recommend Isopure Whey Protein Isolate Powder to help build muscle.
💰 Where To Buy Isopure Zero Carb Protein Powder
There are a lot of places to buy Isopure Zero Carb protein. Here were my 3 choices for a 15 serving container.
- Walmart, $26.94, $1.80 per serving
- Amazon, $26.94, $1.80 per serving
- Isopure.com, $31.99, $2.13 per serving
If you’re looking for significant savings, Isopure is offering 15% off on all orders over $100 and 20% off on orders over $150. If you don’t want to spend $100, signing up for Isopure’s newsletter nets you an automatic 15% off. To get free shipping you need to buy at least $75 worth of products.
If your wallet can take the hit with the bigger containers. Amazon’s Subscribe & Save is going to be your best deals (S&S pricing per serving).
- 3 Pounds, $75.99, 42 servings, $1.80 ($1.71)
- 4.5 Pounds, $92.29, 62 servings, $1.48 ($1.40)
- 7.5 Pounds, $135.14, 110 servings, $1.22 ($1.15)
When purchasing through Amazon, you get the same wonky pricing based off of vendors who have product in hand. And the typical, if you buy chocolate, you may receive 2 fewer servings. As always, do your homework.
😌 Money-Back Guarantee
Turning to Isopure’s money-back guarantee, you need to contact Isopure within 30 days of purchase.
- Purchased direct from Isopure with a valid order number
- Dietary Supplements and other consumable products: Dietary supplements and other consumable product returns are only accepted if it was purchased through optimumnutrition.com or Consumer Affairs for which 75% or more of the product is unused
If you’re not happy with any product you purchased. Start the conversation with a rep.
Price: 6 out of 10. If I’m paying close to $2 per serving, I better be wowed. I’m not wowed. If you can front the bill for 7.5 pounds of protein, that’s your best value. However, I’m getting a vitamin enriched protein powder with a half-baked amino acid profile.
✅ Is Isopure Protein Good Quality?
Many potential buyers are scouring Reddit and Google to find the answer to this question: Is Isopure Protein good quality? I’ll share the answers after outlining what I’ve uncovered with my research. I will answer the following questions to provide supporting evidence and facts: Isopure Protein is not a good-quality protein powder.
I’m going to ask these questions when examining the protein quality of Isopure Protein Zero Carb Zero Sugar.
- How does Isopure Protein compare to other nationally recognized brands?
- What is Isopure Whey Protein Isolate Amino Acid Profile?
- Is Isopure amino spiking?
📊 What is Isopure Protein Powder Amino Acid Profile?
Upon first glance at a bag of Isopure Protein Zero Carb Zero Sugar, you will notice an “amino acid profile.” An amino acid profile provides specific and detailed weights of all amino in the protein powder for the record. Unfortunately, the printed table on all Isopure Protein Zero Carb Zero Sugar bags does not have an amino acid profile.
I did what any sensible protein reviewer would do: I emailed Isopure. Here is what Isopure shared in my email.
The amino acids are naturally occurring, and each isn’t measured specifically… Our product formulas and ingredient details are proprietary, so we cannot provide this information.
Any time a protein company shares “proprietary information,” means that there is some shady stuff going on behind the scenes. Why would a protein powder have proprietary amino acids when essentially proteins are the same? Isopure Protein Zero Carb Zero Sugar is a low-quality protein powder that may be amino spiked.
This leads us to our next section, “Does Isopure Protein Have BCAAs?”
💥Does Isopure Protein Have BCAAs?
Suppose we have proprietary information about the amino acid profile of Isopure Protein Zero Carb Zero Sugar. In that case, we must ask: Does Isopure protein have BCAAs?
Examining the Isopure Protein Zero Carb Zero Sugar container, you do see the following information about BCAAs
- 5.5g of BCAAs per serving
- 4g of Glutamine per serving
There are no listed BCAAs in the Isopure Protein Zero Carb Zero Sugar ingredient list. However, when examining two major online outlets, Amazon and Vitacost, you can see that L-glutamine is a listed ingredient.
This most definitely raises concerns about quality and transparency. Why list L-glutamine at two online retailers yet fail to list that specific BCAA in the ingredient list?
Examining the small print on Isopure Protein Zero Carb Zero Sugar, the typical small font symbol, “*,” states “naturally occurring.” Here’s a fun fact about “naturally occurring BCAAs.” If they are listed in the ingredient list, it’s not naturally occurring.
Here’s a little step in the “Is Isopure Protein Good Quality?”
💥 Does Isopure Protein Have Creatine?
Suppose we have L-Glutamine as an unlisted ingredient on an Isopure Protein Zero Carb Zero Sugar bag. Is it possible that creatine is in Isopure Protein?
Based on my examination of online retailers, Isopure Protein does not have creatine.
The only way to be certain is to have an independent third party examine Isopure Protein.
⚖️ Isopure Protein Comparison
Everyone is always looking for protein comparisons. Comparing brands helps out so you know exactly what you’re buying. Plus, if you’re someone who is a gym-rat or is physically active, the name of the game is to put on as much muscle as possible. A high-quality, non-amino spiked protein may help you achieve those goals.
So let us look at some Isopure Protein comparison. If you’re using Isopure Protein, it may be due to the claims of low lactose or it’s perfect for keto dieters. Each one of Isopure Protein comparisons, I’ve already done a full detailed review of the product. Let’s get into these Isopure Protein comparisons!
🆚 Isopure vs Gold Standard
Isopure vs Gold Standard is an interesting matchup due to the fact that Optimum Nutrition supplies Isopure with their protein. However, what Isopure does with that protein is they be selling a potentially amino spiked protein. If you want my full review of ON Gold Standard, here is my ON Gold Standard review.
Isopure Protein Creamy Vanilla | ON Gold Standard(Vanilla Ice Cream)
Leucine | Proprietary information | 2.6 grams |
Leucine Percent | Proprietary information | 10.83% |
Total BCAAs | 5.5 grams | 5.5 grams |
Protein / Serving | 25 grams | 24 grams |
Calories | 100 | 120 |
Serving Size | 31 grams | 31 grams |
As you can see in this Isopure vs Gold Standard comparison, they are very similar products. However, the one key component lacking from Isopure is transparency. Plus, Isopure adds in a little unlisted L-Glutamine.
🆚 Isopure vs ISO 100
Comparing Isopure vs ISO 100, once again, the two products are very similar. Here are the key differences between the two brands
- Detailed amino acid profile offered by ISO 100
- More flavor varieties
- ISO 100 offers a hydrolyzed whey isolate, meaning no to low lactose.
If I had to pick the winner in this Isopure vs ISO 100 face-off, I would select ISO 100. Here’s why, transparency. If you want more information, check out my Dymatize ISO 100 review.
Isopure Protein Creamy Vanilla | ISO 100 (Cookies & Cream)
Leucine | Proprietary information | 2.6 grams |
Leucine Percent | Proprietary information | 10.4% |
Total BCAAs | 5.5 grams | 5.5 grams |
Protein / Serving | 25 grams | 25 grams |
Calories | 100 | 120 |
Serving Size | 31 grams | 31 grams |
🆚 Isopure vs Ghost Protein
Here’s the last Isopure Protein comparison, this one is Isopure vs Ghost Protein. Here’s the kicker in this showdown: both protein powders are amino spiked. In this Isopure vs Ghost Protein comparison, if you’re selecting a protein powder based on taste, Ghost Protein wins hands down. Once again, if you’re doing keto, you’re going to be selecting Isopure Protein due to the zero carbs.
If you want a detailed write-up, check up my Ghost Protein review. In that article I discuss how to identify potentially amino spiked protein powders.
Isopure Protein Creamy Vanilla | Cinnabon Ghost Protein
Leucine | Proprietary information | 3.139 grams |
Leucine Percent | Proprietary information | 12.56% |
Total BCAAs | 5.5 grams | 6.733 grams |
Protein / Serving | 25 grams | 25 grams |
Calories | 100 | 130 |
Serving Size | 31 grams | 34 grams |
In this Isopure Protein comparison section, I’m always going to select a non-amino spiked protein powder. In this case, I would only be selecting ON Gold Standard and ISO 100.
🔬 Is Isopure Protein Third Party Tested?
I contacted Isopure about specific third-party testing for banned substances. However, I got the usual run-of-the-mill answer: “Our products are routinely tested by laboratory analysis during manufacturing by our quality team. Before using ingredients in our products, they are tested analytically to ensure supplier information is accurate, and each supplier goes through a vigorous certificate process by GPN.”
What does that mean to us?
Simply put: We are certified and follow cGMP. Our products are safe for human consumption.
I requested a certificate of analysis, but they also shared that the information is not shareable.
🐄❌ Is Isopure Protein rBST Free?
There is a claim made by Isopure sharing that Isopure Protein Powder is “rBST Free Whey.” Requesting a certificate of analysis provides credentials from where (and what country) the protein is from, especially if it’s from a country that bans the use of hormones in dairy cows. The other 3rd party verification is to be verified as USDA Organic. Obtaining that USDA Organic badge provides a minimum antibiotic, hormone, and GMO-free threshold.
Isopure Protein Isolate is not rBST-free because it did not provide a certificate of analysis and was not verified by USDA Organic.
Isopure Protein Rating, Amino Spiking: 1 out of 10. Unlisted amino acids are on the bag, yet they are listed at online retailers. An amino table without specific measurements of amino. Finally, proprietary information regarding amino acid profile. When you have no transparency with a protein company, such as Isopure, I can safely say that Isopure Protein is not good quality.
🤝 How to Make Isopure Protein Shake
The directions are to use 6-8 fl oz of water in a shaker or blender. If a shaker or blender is inconvenient, ISOPURE ZERO CARB can be stirred into the solution with a spoon.
What does “stirred into solution with a spoon” mean? If it’s on the label, we need to try it!
Surprisingly, the spoon is mighty effective.
Isopure Protein Rating, Mixability: 10 out of 10. Using a shaker is an automatic 10. Mixing with a spoon is at least a 7. The dry clumps I experienced were not too bad of an experience. I would stir with a spoon again if I didn’t have a shaker.
🧪 What Are The Ingredients in Isopure Protein?
Next, let’s analyze the ingredients in Isopure’s Vanilla Protein Powder. I’ll divide the ingredients into two sections: protein powder ingredients and vitamins and minerals profile.
📋 Isopure Vanilla Protein Powder Ingredients
Just a reminder about Isopure’s Protein Powder ingredient profile: L-Glutamine is an unlisted BCAA.
Protein Ingredient | Purpose |
Whey Protein Isolate | Primary protein source, supports muscle growth |
Soy Lecithin | Emulsifier, helps mix ingredients smoothly |
L-Glutamine | Amino acid, aids in recovery and immune support |
Natural and Artificial Flavor | Enhances taste and aroma |
Sucralose | Artificial sweetener |
Xanthan Gum | Thickener and stabilizer for texture |
I’m cautious about the presence of Soy Lecithin in protein powders due to concerns about potential manufacturing processes. Here are my concerns of Soy Lecithin in protein powders.
- Allergies
- Is it GMO?
- Digestion issues
If we enrich a protein powder with vitamins, why can’t we use sunflower lecithin? We are already paying a premium for a vitamin-enriched protein powder. Finally, Isopure Vanilla Protein Powder does not have L-glutamine on the list of physical bags.
🪨 Essential Minerals in Isopure Vanilla Protein Powder
Examining the claims and benefits stated on the bag of Isopure Vanilla Protein Powder, we see that these essential minerals are the reason for those claims.
Vitamin/Mineral Ingredient | Health Support Benefits |
Dicalcium Phosphate | Provides calcium and phosphorus for bone health |
Potassium Chloride | Supports nerve and muscle function, electrolyte balance |
Magnesium Oxide | Supports muscle and nerve function, bone health |
Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) | Antioxidant, immune system support |
Sodium Chloride | Electrolyte balance, essential for bodily functions |
Zinc Sulfate | Immune support, wound healing |

The vitamin profile of Isopure protein powder is robust. This begs the question: Can’t I get a multivitamin at a lower price with more servings? Yes. Do you need to take a vitamin-enriched protein powder? Can you take a standard protein powder with a vitamin pill?
🌍 Isopure Protein Source
I contacted Isopure regarding where they source their protein powder. I wasn’t surprised that Isopure did not want to share the ingredient sourcing. However, a big tell in the email was that the rep referenced “ON” several times.
One would say that it’s a Freudian slip. That information is enough to suggest that Optimum Nutrition is a supplier of their protein. Optimum Nutrition verifies that they source their protein from India. Hence the reason why Isopure is so inexpensive and readily available at numerous retail outlets.
Finally, I’m not surprised that Isopure did not want to share the origin of the ingredients in their protein.
Isopure Protein Rating, Protein Ingredients: 4 out of 10. Visiting Amazon and VitaCost, I found that L-glutamine is listed in the ingredients list. Unfortunately, it’s not listed on the physical bag. I’m not surprised by Isopure’s transparency. Plus, I’m not surprised that Isopure doesn’t want to share where they source their protein.

Here are the Isopure Vanilla Protein Powder nutrition facts. These facts provide the number of calories in Isopure Protein per serving.

Serving size 31g (About 1 scoop)
- Calories 100
- Protein 25 grams
- Total fat 0g
- Sodium 240mg
- Total Carbohydrate 0g

🍗 How Much Protein Does Isopure Zero Carb Protein Have Per Serving?
25 grams of protein per serving / 31 gram serving size = 81% protein per serving
🍨 Is Isopure Protein Powder Lactose-Free?
There are claims that Isopure Protein Powder is lactose-free. However, I did have mild bloating. I’m not sure if that is from the soy or lecithin being potentially GMO-based. However, a certificate of analysis is required to provide how much lactose is in one serving of Isopure Protein Powder. Isopure did not provide a CoA.
🌾❌ Is Isopure Protein Gluten Free?
Once again, we have a claim that Isopure is gluten-free. However, information is being withheld from the buyer. I would like to clarify this for potential buyers of Isopure Protein Powder.
Isopure Protein Isolate offers a gluten-free formulation. When selecting a specific flavor through VitaCost, the outlet shares the following statement: “This product is produced in a facility with soy, dairy, egg, and wheat ingredients, peanuts, and tree nuts.”
Isopure Protein Isolate flavors offer a gluten-free formulation manufactured in a cross-contaminate facility.
Isopure Protein Rating, Protein Ingredients: 6 out of 10. From the physical container, we already know that Isopure offers unlisted BCAAs. The 25 grams of listed protein are potentially amino-spiked. Finally, there are claims of being “gluten-free.” The only gluten-free protein isolate offered by Isopure is unflavored. Isopure-flavored protein powders are gluten-free formulations manufactured in a cross-contaminate facility.
😋 Isopure Protein Taste Review
If you can’t get the basics right, the rest of a company’s flavors will be off. For a zero carb, zero sugar protein powder, I was surprised! The texture was similar to that of an almond milk. Creamy vanilla tasted like vanilla skim milk.
🏆 Which Isopure Flavor Is The Best
There are 9 total flavors. The full-flavor assault is available at either Amazon or through Isopure.
Unflavored | Creamy Vanilla | Dutch Chocolate |
Banana Cream | Chocolate Peanut Butter | Cookies & Cream |
Strawberries & Cream | Toasted Coconut | Vanilla Salted Carmel |
⭐️ Amazon Whey Protein Review: Isopure Protein Best Flavor
Based off of nearly 35,000 Amazon review, Isopure currently sits at 4.6 out of 5 stars.
The majority of the reviewers agree that the basic flavors—chocolate and vanilla—are amazing. Once you start straying outside the basic flavors, the other flavors are amazing, too!
As always, when you look through the 1-star comments, there is a platoon of individuals who are not fans of the flavors. However, the two flavors you should worry about are Cookies & Cream and Toasted Coconut.
Isopure Protein Rating, Flavor: 9 out of 10.
🎬 Isopure Protein Low Carb Review – Final Thoughts
Let’s wrap up this Isopure Protein Low Carb Review, starting with what I felt were negatives about the product.
- No amino acid profile
- Not truly a gluten or lactose-free experience
- Lacks 3rd party verification on key claims
- No transparency
- Overpriced
Here are all the great things Isopure offers when buyer their Zero Carb Protein
- Amazing taste with no sugar
- Mixes great in a shaker or stirred with a spoon
- Robust vitamin profile
Are you getting a protein powder with 25 grams of protein per serving? This is especially true when you look at the Amazon selling page, where L-glutamine is listed as an ingredient.
When you examine a physical package of Isopure Zero Carb protein, L-Glutamine is mysteriously left off the ingredient list. Is that 4G of glutamine per serving* from a naturally occurring source listed on the package?
Most likely not.
I like the thought of a robust vitamin profile when drinking my protein shake. Then again… This protein powder is being catered and advertised to women trying to make a lifestyle or are busy professionals.
🤔 Is Isopure Protein Zero Carb Protein Good?
Some people are wondering: Is Isopure Protein Zero Carb Protein good? To the everyday gym-goer trying to build muscle, Isopure Zero Carb Protein may be a great choice as an after-training shake. However, it’s not a great choice to stimulate muscle growth.
The research suggests that Isopure Zero Carb Protein is a low-quality protein powder that lacks transparency on sourcing, ingredient listing, and protein origin. If you want to stimulate muscle growth, you are left wondering how much leucine you are receiving with this potentially amino-spiked protein. L-glutamine is an unlisted ingredient.
I highly encourage all fitness enthusiasts to avoid Isopure Protein Zero Carb as an after-training shake. However, if you’re using Isopure Protein Zero Carb for low-carb or keto dieting, this protein powder could be on your list of “must-buys.” However, I have provided some key details once again about Isopure Zero Carb protein.
- The flavored version offers artificial sweeteners
- You may experience mild bloating due to the use of GMO products
- It is not truly a gluten and lactose-free protein powder
If those items don’t matter, Isopure Zero Carb Protein is a great selection, especially if you use it to enrich and reach your daily protein goals.
