🤔MyProtein Whey Isolate: Worth Your Money? 💰

Is MyProtein Whey Isolate Worth It? 🤷‍♂️

If you’re a gym goer or a gym newbie looking for whey protein powder, you may have come across MyProtein. There is no denying that MyProtein whey protein is inexpensive and may offer a great value. However, is MyProtein whey isolate worth your money?

As a whole, MyProtein whey isolate is not worth it. Potential amino acid spikingcheap ingredients, and improper labeling are why MyProtein’s Impact Whey Isolate is not worth it. Those issues are red flags, raising questions about MyProtein’s quality and transparency.

It’s essential to jumpstart the recovery process after an intense gym session. You need to know if MyProtein can be your daily post-workout shake. I’m here to tell you it’s not. Keep reading, and I’ll drop the details.

Is My Protein Powder Amino Spiked? 🔍

I’m certified by the International Society of Sports Nutrition as a Sports Supplementation Specialist. As I share with all my clients and in my unbiased protein powder reviews, look for or request an amino acid profile. An amino acid profile will show two characteristics of the protein powder.

  • Quality of protein you are buying
  • Identity if a protein powder is amino spiked

Concerning MyProtein, no amino acid profile is listed. Nothing printed on any of their protein product. No amino acid profile is listed anywhere at MyProtein.com. I’ve reviewed MyProtein protein powders on multiple occasions.

I contacted MyProtein’s customer service department to request an amino acid profile. The representative ignored the request, “forward” the request to their manufacturer (with no follow-up), or closed out the ticket request. You will not receive an amino acid profile from MyProtein.

In general, an amino acid profile verifies that you are receiving a protein powder that is not amino spiked. After numerous requests to MyProtein, I found that the website and protein products do not have an amino acid profile. MyProtein protein supplements are spiked.

Requesting an amino acid profile from MyProtein is like asking your spouse to do something.
I want to use MyProtein live chat. It’s never available.

This brings us to our next point.

Why is MyProtein so Cheap? 💸

Compared to other protein powders, MyProtein is always the cheapest protein your wallet can afford. How does MyProtein get away with it?

MyProtein imports its protein from international sources, which is why It is so cheap. For example, it could import whey isolate from India, Europe, China, or South America.

You’re probably asking me, “How do you know this?”

MyProtein protein powders usually have a short list.

Simple. Look at the container. Always look at the small print or look for the American flag. Unfortunately, MyProtein doesn’t want to advertise that its ingredients are “manufactured in the USA with ingredients of international and domestic origin.”

I can share US-based protein brands that use international protein and state that their protein powders contain ingredients of international origin: Levels Whey ProteinON Gold Standard Whey, and Ghost Whey Protein.

Why is MyProtein labeling deceiving and misleading buyers with their Impact Whey Isolate?

Is My Protein GMP Certified? ✅

I’ve reviewed numerous protein powders. I’ve noticed some rules about using internationally sourced ingredients.

  • A statement needs to be provided that ingredients are internationally sourced
  • Protein needs to be assembled or produced in a cGMP facility
  • 3rd party tested for quality & consistency

MyProtein is GMP-certified as of 2007. That means MyProtein uses internationally sourced protein powders and good manufacturing practices. You can find that information in their About Us.

Is My Protein GMP Certified?
Is My Protein GMP Certified? Yes. That also means MyProtein uses internationally sourced protein. Majority of their containers lack cGMP statements and ingredients of international origin statements.

I have one final section that you will want to read.

Is MyProtein High Quality Protein? 🧐

I’ve provided some information about MyProtein’s protein manufacturing and labeling practices. I don’t hold MyProtein high in the quality department, but I’ve never shared my final thoughts.

In general, MyProtein protein powders lack an amino acid profile (even upon request), inconsistent labeling of internationally sourced ingredients, and protein powders potentially enriched with added BCAAs. MyProtein is not a high quality protein.

Having Labdor, a neutral third party, check for banned substances is a nice touch, especially if you’re a college or professional athlete. And a supplement company willing to spend money on a third party to check for banned substances? Why not open the wallet and provide an amino acid profile?

MyProtein is a very average supplement company that offers, at most, an average (spiked) protein experience. Spend your money on a higher-quality protein powder.
