📖 Is Isopure Protein Zero Carb Protein Good? The Review Details
In my recent review of Isopure’s Infusion clear whey isolate, I found it lacking, resulting in an unimpressive score of 68%. Here is what I didn’t like about Infusions
- No amino acid profile
- Shaking the protein was chalky
My initial expectations for Isopure’s Zero Carb protein powder were low, especially after reading the label, which suggests that it’s specifically geared towards women.
Let’s answer this question in this unbiased review: Which Protein Powder Is Best For Ladies?
Certified and accredited from Precision Nutrition and ISSN, I bring a background of professional knowledge that provide an unbiased review of Isopure Zero Carb Protein.
Lets see Isopure Zero Carb protein powder answer the call?
💰 Where To Buy Isopure Zero Carb Protein Powder
There are a lot of places to buy Isopure Zero Carb protein. Here were my 3 choices for a 15 serving container.
- Walmart, $26.94, $1.80 per serving
- Amazon, $26.94, $1.80 per serving
- Isopure.com, $31.99, $2.13 per serving
If you’re looking for significant savings, Isopure is offering 15% off on all orders over $100 and 20% off on orders over $150. If you don’t want to spend $100, signing up for Isopure’s newsletter nets you an automatic 15% off. To get free shipping you need to buy at least $75 worth of products.
If your wallet can take the hit with the bigger containers. Amazon’s Subscribe & Save is going to be your best deals (S&S pricing per serving).
- 3 Pounds, $75.99, 42 servings, $1.80 ($1.71)
- 4.5 Pounds, $92.29, 62 servings, $1.48 ($1.40)
- 7.5 Pounds, $135.14, 110 servings, $1.22 ($1.15)
When purchasing through Amazon, you get the same wonky pricing based off of vendors who have product in hand. And the typical, if you buy chocolate, you may receive 2 fewer servings. As always, do your homework.
😌 Money-Back Guarantee

Price: 6 out of 10. If I’m paying close to $2 per serving, I better be wowed. I’m not wowed. If you can front the bill for 7.5 pounds of protein, that’s your best value. However, I’m getting a vitamin enriched protein powder with a half-baked amino acid profile.
🤯 Is Isopure Protein Clean?
I contacted Isopure. They responded back within 24-hours.
Unfortunately, they did not provide an amino acid profile, leaving me to rely on their word that Isopure contains naturally occurring amino acids. I’m not taking a corporate person’s word.
I did send a rebuttal back in what Isopure’s competitors are doing. Crickets.
An article from Endurlite.com shares that, ”Amino spiking is when manufacturers add amino acids like glycine, arginine, glutamine, and creatine to their protein powders.”
Are there any added aminos in Isopure?
Amino Spiking: 5 out of 10. If I’m getting a vitamin-enriched protein powder. What else is Isopure enriching their protein powder?
🤝 Does Isopure Protein Mix Easy?
The directions are to use 6-8 fl oz of water in shaker or blender. If a shaker or blender is not convenient, ISOPURE ZERO CARB can be stirred into solution with a spoon.
What does “stirred into solution with a spoon” mean?
If it’s on the label, we got to try it!
Surprisingly, spoon is mighty effective.
Protein Shake Mix: 10 out of 10. Using a shaker is an automatic 10. Mixing with a spoon is at least a 7. The dry clumps I experienced were not too bad of an experience. If I didn’t have a shaker, I would actually stir with a spoon again.
🧪 Isopure Vanilla Protein Powder Ingredients
Isopure’s Protein Powder Profile Ingredients
|Whey Protein Isolate
|Primary protein source, supports muscle growth
|Emulsifier, helps mix ingredients smoothly
|Amino acid, aids in recovery and immune support
|Natural and Artificial Flavor
|Enhances taste and aroma
|Thickener and stabilizer for texture
I’m cautious about the presence of Soy Lecithin in protein powders due to concerns about potential manufacturing processes. Here are my concerns of Soy Lecithin in protein powders.
- Is it GMO?
- Digestion issues
If we are enriching a protein powder with vitamins, why can’t we use sunflower lecithin? We are already paying a premium for a vitamin enriched protein powder.
L-Glutamine is a Listed Ingredient in Amazon
The ingredient list on Amazon includes L-Glutamine, but it’s conspicuously absent on the actual product label. This discrepancy raises questions about Isopure’s transparency.
Do a Ctrl+F for “L-Glutamine” to find the answer.
Even reading the label, it states “naturally occurring.” It can’t be naturally occurring if it’s listed in the ingredient list.
Questionable protein formulation.

The vitamin profile found in Isopure protein powder is really robust. This begs the question. Can’t I get a multi-vitamin at a lower price, with more servings?
Do you really need to take a vitamin enriched protein powder? Or, can you take a standard protein powder with a vitamin pill.
Protein Ingredients: 5 out of 10. The physical ingredient list on Isopure doesn’t state any added amino acids. Clearly stated, “*naturally occurring.” Taking a visit to Amazon, L-Glutamine is listed in the ingredients list. Isopure is taking a play from PESceince. A generic amino acid profile, no actual amino acid information.

Serving size 31g (About 1 scoop)
- Total fat 0g
- Sodium 240mg
- Total Carbohydrate 0g

- Protein 25 grams
🍗 How Much Protein Does Isopure Zero Carb Protein Have Per Serving?
25 grams of protein per serving / 31 gram serving size = 81% protein per serving
🍨 Is Isopure Lactose Free, Soy Free, or Gluten Free
Isopure is not listed as gluten free. There is soy in Ispoure zero carb protein and is made in a soy environment.
Going through my container of Isopure, I did not have any major digestive issues. The only thing I experienced is mild bloating.
⚖️ How Many Scoops Of Isopure Should I Take
Since L-Glutamine is listed, in the Amazon store, but not on the actual package. The mind is left to wonder.
What we do know is this…
1 serving scoop is about 1 serving listed on the package
🏋️♂️ Does Isopure Help Build Muscle?
Because of the discrepancy between the package and the biggest online retailer. I don’t think the list 25 grams of muscle building protein is from a 100% dairy source.
With the information I found, I feel that Isopure may have anywhere between 18 and 23 grams of protein from a 100% dairy source. The rest of the 25 grams of listed protein, is going to be from L-Glutamine.
Ladies looking to build muscle.1 and ¼ scoops may be enough to stimulate muscle protein synthesis. Men, the 1 and ¼ scoops may be enough; then again to be safe, shoot for 1.5 scoops.
🏋️♂️ Is Isopure Whey Protein Good For Weight Loss
Isopure can be a good tool to fight hunger. Doubling up a serving of Isopure can help you stay full longer. Mixing Isopure with Greek yogurt or mixing it with a baking recipe can do wonders.
Isopure does a great job advertising different recipes to manage your sweet tooth to sweet treats.
🏋️♂️ Can I Use Isopure As A Meal Replacement
Isopure protein is best used post-workout. This is a 100% isolate protein. How much of that 100% is actually from a dairy source is questionable.
If you want to use Isopure as a meal replacement, I would recommend mixing Isopure with milk to slow down digestion. If you want to make it from breakfast to lunch, double up your servings.
🏋️♂️ Is Isopure Keto Friendly
For those on a keto diet, Isopure’s zero-carb content is ideal, though some may have reservations about the inclusion of sucralose as a sweetener. However, zero calorie sweeteners will not stimulate insulin.
Protein Ingredients: 6 out of 10. Isopure is no better than the cheap protein powders that are amino spiked. What’s difference between the amino spiked proteins and Isopure zero carb protein? Some of those amino spike proteins are properly labeled or labeled as “Muscle Building Matrix.”
😋 Does Isopure Taste Good?
If you can’t get the basics right, the rest of the flavors offered by a company are going to be off.
For a zero carb, zero sugar protein powder, I was surprised!
The texture was similar to that of an almond milk. Creamy vanilla tasted like vanilla skim milk. I hate skim milk. This was great.
I had to look at the nutrition facts just to confirm that there were zero carbs and zero sugar. Full Disclaimer: There is sucralose in Isopure.
Which Isopure Flavor Is The Best
There are 9 total flavors. The full flavor assault is available at either Amazon or through Isopure.
|Chocolate Peanut Butter
|Cookies & Cream
|Strawberries & Cream
|Vanilla Salted Carmel
Based off of nearly 35,000 Amazon review, Isopure currently sits at 4.6 out of 5 stars.
Majority of the reviewers are in the same boat: the basic flavors are amazing: chocolate and vanilla. Once you start straying outside the basic flavors… The other flavors are amazing too!
As always, when you look through the 1-star comments, there is a platoon of individuals who are not a fan of the flavors. However, the two flavors you should worry of are Cookies & Cream and Toasted Coconut.
🎬 Is Isopure the Best Protein – Final Thoughts
In conclusion, let’s weigh the pros and cons to determine if Isopure is indeed the best protein choice. Here are the key takeaways…
Here are all the great things Isopure offers when buyer their Zero Carb Protein
- Amazing taste with no sugar
- Mixes great in a shaker or stirred with a spoon
- Robust vitamin profile
All of those positives are taken when you look at the big picture
- No amino acid profile
- Dishonest labeling practice with hidden L-Gluatmine
Are you really getting a protein powder with the labeled 25 gram of protein per serving? Especially when you look at the Amazon selling page. On that selling page, L-Glutamine is a listed ingredient.
When you examine a physical package of Isopure Zero Carb protein, L-Glutamine is mysteriously left off the ingredient list. Is that 4G of glutamine per serving* from a naturally occurring source listed on the package?
Most likely not.
I like the thought of a robust vitamin profile when drinking my protein shake. Then again… Purchase a great multi-vitamin, purchase a reputable and protein powder, save yourself some money.
💥 Which Protein Powder Is Best For Ladies
To conclude our discussion on the best protein powder for ladies, based on this review, and previous reviews, here are my top recommendations:
Upon completing this protein review, I feel there are better protein powders you can purchase. If you’re living the keto lifestyle, you’re going to need to do your homework to see if these protein powder suggestions will be best for you.
What are some protein powder that I’ve reviewed that I feel would be great tasting and are full disclosure protein powder for you ladies?
When considering which protein powder is best for ladies, it’s important to assess factors like protein content per serving, digestibility, and transparency. Let’s see how Isopure Zero Carb stands up to these criteria.
Isopure Zero Carb can’t even be mentioned in the same realm as Pure Choice Farms, Ghost Whey Protein, Alani Nu, nor Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard.
Even though Isopure Zero Carb protein offers a robust vitamin profile to any contemporary protein powder on the market. Are you taking a protein powder for the vitamins and minerals? Or are you taking a protein supplement to build lean muscle and lose weight?
The absence of a detailed amino acid profile in Isopure Zero Carb is a major drawback for those seeking a well-rounded nutritional supplement.
To conclude, while Isopure Zero Carb Protein offers certain benefits like zero sugar and good mixability. I personally feel it is not the best choice for women looking for comprehensive nutritional support. Based on this review, other options like Ghost Whey Protein or Alani Nu might better cater to the specific health needs of women.
Let’s examine the other protein options that I highly recommend.
Women Protein Recommendations
Pure Choice Farms is the best protein you can purchase. However, it’s not a perfect protein. Price can be an issue. If you’re looking for an amazing flavor profile, it may not be there for you. However, Pure Choice Farms is virtually lactose free.
Ghost Whey protein is a great protein powder. It’s not as great as Gold Standard. What I do like about Ghost protein is the robust digestive enzyme and full transparency of protein being used. What is annoying is the price.
Alani Nu is a great protein. However, Alani Nu scored in the “above average” range. Due to the lack of an amino acid profile, it couldn’t get past that 80% mark. What’s great about Alani Nu protein powder is the flavor, mixability, digestive enzymes, and price.
Ladies if you’re still looking for more protein recommendations. Gold Standard is an industry leader.
If you’re on a budget, MyProtein Impact isolate is in that borderline average, do not recommend.
If you’re looking to buy the best tasting protein powder. BSN Syntha 6 is the one you want. Syntha 6 is in that same boat with Isopure and MyProtein: Questionable labeling and amino acid profile.
Isopure Protein Vs Gold Standard
If you’re looking for a high quality protein powder with an amino acid profile. Gold Standard is an industry leader in the blended-protein market.
- 18 amazing flavors
- Mixes great
- Budget sizing
- 3rd party tested
Isopure Vs Syntha 6
If you’re comparing Isopure and BSN Syntha 6, they are very similar.
- Misleading label
- No amino acid profile
Reason why Isopure gets the edge over Syntha 6 is that it’s not a blended protein. Syntha 6 is a multi-blend protein. Here is where Syntha 6 shines
- Superior meal replacement protein, high in fiber
- Best tasting protein powder in the market
Priced similarly. You do get more servings with Syntha 6 per container
Isopure vs MyProtein
If you’re on a budget and living that keto lifestyle, MyProtein Impact Isolate is a great alternative to Isopure.
MyProtein is easily the cheapest protein you can buy on sale. BUY ON SALE. There is always a sale on Impact Isolate. You can have savings between 25% up to 50% off.
The flavor of MyProtein Impact Isolate isn’t as robust as Isopure. The only other notable aspact of MyProtein is you could be only getting 15g of protein per serving due to the lack of label integrity.
