Unbiased Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey Review
This Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey Review has been a long-time guest request. Other individuals on YouTube have been steering me to get this review done. No lying. My website heavily advertises Transparent Lab products. That’s not my choice; it’s Google’s choice.
Let’s examine whether Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey is a high-end protein powder or a marketing buzz. Let’s get this Transparent Labs Protein review going.
Transparent Labs 100 Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate Review: High Quality, But Not Certified
If you’re seeking a protein powder that claims to be “grass-fed,” the 100 Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate by Transparent Labs might catch your eye. This protein powder delivers 28g of protein per serving with a solid 2.8g of leucine—great for muscle recovery. However, despite its “grass-fed” label, it lacks USDA Organic certification, raising questions about its sourcing. The flavor and mixability are top-notch, but the premium price and lack of certification might make you wonder if it’s worth it.
- Robust 3rd party certification
- High protein content
- Easy to mix
- Fantastic flavor for a stevia protein
- Higher price
- Not certified as grass-fed
- Not the highest quality protein based on leucine content

🏋️♂️ What Kind of Protein Is Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey?
When reading the ingredient label and nutrition facts on Whey Protein Isolate Transparent Labs, I suggest using it as a pre-, post-, or anytime protein shake. It’s important to note that Whey Protein Isolate Transparent Labs offers no dietary fiber. The protein source in Whey Protein Isolate Transparent Labs is exclusively whey protein isolate, a well-known fast-digesting protein.
💪 How Much Transparent Labs Protein Should I Take Post Workout?
Research suggests that to stimulate muscle growth post-workout, you need a minimum of 25 grams of protein with up to 3 grams of naturally occurring leucine. Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein offers 25 grams of protein per serving with 2.8 grams of leucine.
If you’re using Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein post-workout, you need approximately 1.1 scoops to meet the muscle growth requirements. However, considering the cost of Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein, you can optimize your intake by mixing it with 1 cup of high-protein skim milk and a little more than half a scoop of the protein powder.
According to the USDA, one cup of skim milk provides 8 grams of protein and 0.8 grams of leucine. Alternatively, using a cup of Skim Fairlife milk will also ensure you exceed the 25 grams
🛒 Where to Buy Transparent Labs Whey Protein Isolate
When considering where to purchase Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey, there are two main options: directly from Transparent Labs or through Amazon. My decision was made easier by finding a Lightning Deal for Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey on Amazon.
Let’s compare the pros and cons of buying Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey directly from Transparent Labs versus Amazon.
💰 Buy Transparent Labs Protein
Buying directly from Transparent Labs offers several benefits:

📦 Transparent Labs Whey Protein Amazon
Here are the benefits of buying from Amazon, especially if you’re a Prime Member:
- Free 2-day shipping
- The lower price for the Milk Chocolate flavor is $58.99
If you’re a Prime Member interested in trying Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey, the convenience and price may be worth it. However, your flavor options are limited, and prices outside the Milk Chocolate flavor are generally higher.
- $58.99 for 30 servings, $1.97 per serving
If you want to avoid shipping costs, Amazon is the cheaper option—if you’re a Prime Member. However, if you already know your preferred flavor, paying the extra $6 for shipping directly from Transparent Labs might be worth it for the broader flavor selection. The decision is yours.
💸 Transparent Labs Satisfaction Guarantee

Value: 6 out of 10. There is a lot to like about Transparent Labs 100 Grass-Fed Whey Protein. However, my main complaint is, why not pursue certification as grass-fed? Achieving this certification would validate the claims of being USA-sourced, hormone-free, and GMO-free.
I appreciate the robust third-party certifications, the variety of flavors, and the high protein content per serving.
⚛️ Does Transparent Labs Protein Have BCAA In It?
The age-old question crops up again with my Transparent Labs Protein review: Is Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein amino spiked?
Based on research, Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein is not amino-spiked. It has obtained verification from Informed Protein, confirming that it is free from amino-spiking. Additionally, Labdoor has verified Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein. However, one downfall is the lack of certification for the claims found on their website, such as being “sourced from grass-fed cattle, raised humanely and without the use of growth hormones or hormonal agents.”
Transparent Labs’ Grass-Fed Protein claims may be true, or they could be marketing hype. As I’ll share later, USDA Organic certification is the minimum requirement for verified claims of grass-fed, free of growth hormones or hormonal agents and raised humanely. Obtaining that certification would eliminate any possibility of using conventionally sourced dairy whey, including internationally sourced protein.
The only protein verified free of growth hormones or hormonal agents (without certification) is Muscle Feast Grass Fed Whey. After thorough research, I found that their whey is truly sourced from the UK and Ireland, where hormonal agents are banned.
With Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein, hormonal agents are still common in many conventional dairy farms since it could be USA-sourced whey. I’ll discuss this in detail in the ‘Is Transparent Labs Certified Grass Fed’ section.
🧬 Transparent Labs Whey Protein Amino Acid Profile
The amino acid profile for Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein is not listed on the packaging or the website. To get clarity, I contacted Transparent Labs with these two questions:
- What’s the amino acid profile for Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein per 100 grams of whey?
- What’s the amino acid profile for Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein per serving?
I was pleasantly surprised by the fast turnaround time and the transparency offered by Transparent Labs. Here’s the amino acid profile for Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein per serving:

📜 Is Transparent Labs 3rd Party Tested?
Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein is third-party tested by Labdoor. The Labdoor report confirms that Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein is not amino spiked.
Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein also holds Informed Protein and Informed Choice certifications. These certifications further verify that the product is free from amino spiking and contains no banned or illegal substances.
However, Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein is missing the most important certification: USDA Organic. Being USDA Organic certified would validate several company claims, such as the protein being sourced from USA dairy, free from antibiotics and hormones, and non-GMO.
🧼 Is Transparent Lab the Cleanest Protein?
You may wonder if Transparent Labs 100 Grass-Fed is the cleanest protein powder available. As we discovered, it does have a toxicology report completed by Labdoor. So why not compare other protein powder toxicology reports to Transparent Labs 100 Grass-Fed?
The only criterion necessary when comparing Transparent Labs 100 Grass-Fed to other protein powders is being verified by a third party offering a toxicology test. Below, I’ll list the protein powders I’ve reviewed and compare their toxicology reports to those of Transparent Labs 100 Grass-Fed. I’ve also provided links if you want to read the full reviews.

✨ Clean Protein Powder Brands
Here are my top recommendations for clean protein powder brands. When choosing a protein powder, it is crucial to look for a recognized and verified third-party certification badge. These badges indicate that 90% of the product’s claims are accurate.
While “all-natural ingredients” claims may have some flexibility, the Truly Grass Fed certification is the top choice for certified grass-fed verification. Another important badge to look for is USDA Organic, which certifies that the product is grass-fed, hormone-free, and non-GMO. However, the requirements to be certified USDA Organic are less stringent than those for Truly Grass Fed.
I also recommend ensuring you have access to the certificate of analysis. This information is usually shared in the product description, but contact the protein company directly if it’s not readily available. I’ve contacted many brands that have been officially certified by a neutral third party.
Finally, ensure that the certificate of analysis comes from a reputable name in the supplement industry. Labdoor is an industry leader, and Informed Protein and other “Informed” certifications are also highly reputable. NSF Certified is another trustworthy name to look for.
If I choose clean protein powders based on a certificate of analysis, I recommend any brand certified by Labdoor or Truly Grass Fed. This includes:
Muscle Feast is on the list because of the verified information from Volac. Muscle Feast has been transparent and honest about sourcing and demonstrates a deep knowledge of its product.
Raw Organic Whey deserves an honorable mention for its USDA Organic certification, but that’s just the bare minimum for verified fact-checking of claims.
🔍 How To Tell If Your Protein Powder Is Grass Fed?
If you’ve long followed my reviews, you already know how much I enjoy sharing my favorite article by AGN Roots, “Grass-Fed Whey Contains More BCAAs.” I consistently use that article to help identify uncertified grass-fed label claims.
Fortunately, we have both the amino acid profile and protein per serving to determine whether Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey is truly a grass-fed protein powder.
🐄 Is Transparent Labs Certified Grass Fed?
Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey is not certified as grass-fed by USDA Organic or Truly Grass Fed. Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey may be a standard whey offering more whey per serving. Let’s compare Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey to Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey.
Transparent Labs (French Vanilla) | ON Gold Standard(Vanilla Ice Cream) | |
Leucine | 2.9 grams | 2.6 grams |
Leucine Percent | 8.71% | 10.83% |
Total BCAAs | 5.9 grams | 5.5 grams |
Protein / Serving | 28 grams | 24 grams |
Calories | 130 | 120 |
Serving Size | 34.3 | 31 grams |
Price | $59.99 | $35.65 |
Servings | 30 | 29 |
Price per Serving | $2.00 | $1.23 |
Since Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey is not certified as grass-fed by any recognized third-party organizations, it’s plausible that they are offering a standard whey protein with a larger serving size, which increases the protein content per serving. That would explain the higher protein and BCAA numbers without necessarily indicating a higher quality or grass-fed product.
Transparent Labs’ marketing as “Grass Fed” might be more of a marketing angle rather than a reflection of a superior product, especially in the absence of certification.
📊 Transparent Labs Protein Comparison Chart
Let’s compare Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey to other certified Truly Grass Fed protein powders and an industry leader. All protein powders are unflavored.
🍽️ Nutritional Comparison

Transparent Labs | 2.9g | 5.9g | 8.71% | 33.3g | 28g | 1.1 scoops |
Legion | 2.6g | 5.6g | 9.85% | 26.4g | 22g | 1.2 scoops |
Earth Fed Muscle | 3.18g | 6.3g | 10.60% | 30g | 27g | 1 scoop |
AGN Roots | 3.05g | 6.5g | 10.52% | 29g | 25g | One scoop |

Antler Farms | 4.29g | 8.0g | 14.30% | 30g | 27g | 1 scoop |
Muscle Feast | 2.3g | 4.8g | 10.7% | 24g | 20.5g | <1.5 scoops |
Compared to certified grass-fed protein powders, Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey offers the best feature: its high protein per serving. However, other factors like certifications and pricing should be considered when evaluating the overall value.
💲 Price and Certification Comparison

Transparent Labs | 28g | 130 | $59.99(30 servings) | $2.00 | Labdoor Informed Protein Informed Choice |

Muscle Feast | 21.5 | 88 | $47.49(37 servings) | $1.28 | Labdoor |
This comparison chart highlights that while Transparent Labs offers a high protein per serving, other certified grass-fed protein powders may offer better value in terms of price per serving and verified quality through certifications.
Amino Spiking: 8 out of 10. Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey is an impressive protein powder backed by robust third-party certifications. It’s certified by Informed Protein and further verified by Labdoor, ensuring you get a quality product. Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey is not amino spiked, which is a significant plus.
However, the issue arises with the claims that the protein is “sourced from grass-fed cattle, raised humanely, and without the use of growth hormones or hormonal agents.” Without the minimum certification of USDA Organic, Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey may be a standard whey protein marketed with grass-fed claims. This lack of certification leaves room for doubt about the product’s true nature.
🥤 How to Make Transparent Labs Protein Powder
Transparent Labs 100 Grass Fed Whey Protein shares that you should not exceed the recommended daily intake: one to three scoops. This is how to make a Transparent Labs 100 Grass Fed Whey Protein shake.
- One scoop
- 6 to 8 oz of water (or any beverage of your choice)
- Shake
I do have to mention that Transparent Labs 100 Grass Fed Whey Protein shares to adjust flavor and the amount of liquid. You know what that means? Stevia is in the flavor profile.
If you’re sensitive to stevia and it’s overly sweet, some would say it has a medicinal taste. I found that adding an extra two to four ounces of water will offset the stevia flavor found in Transparent Labs 100 Grass Fed Whey Protein.
How does Transparent Labs 100 Grass Fed Whey Protein mix in a shaker bottle? It’s no problem. All I had were trace cake bits, which soon disappeared after a few drinks.
⚖️ Transparent Labs Scoop Size
Shakability Test: 9 out of 10. It’s easy to shake, with very little to no issues. There are little cake bits when drinking Transparent Labs Whey; I’m unsure if those are granules or non-emulsified powder. I’ll give Transparent Labs the benefit of the doubt.
📋 Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey Ingredients

🌍 Does Transparent Labs Import Their Protein Powder?
When you get a bottle of Transparent Labs 100 Grass Fed Whey Protein, there is no statement about “Made in the USA with international and domestic ingredients.” However, when examining what Transparent Labs 100 Grass Fed Whey Protein offers, it’s clearly stated, “Sourced exclusively from grass-fed American dairy cattle, raised without the use of growth hormone, growth factors, and/or anabolic steroids.”
This begs the question: Is it sourced from grass-fed American dairy cows? Why not go the extra mile and be certified as USDA Organic, removing the doubt from well-researched buyers?
Ingredients List: 8 out of 10. I am writing this Transparent Labs Protein review; the claims of artificial flavors, sweeteners, fillers, or dyes are true. Unfortunately, my point of contention is that the claim of being “grass-fed” and “USA-sourced” is without credible third-party certification.

🥇 Top 3 Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein Flavors for Building Muscle
If I had a mulligan for this Transparent Labs Protein review, I would choose one of these three flavors. They offer a high percentage of protein per serving. Typically, Unflavored would take the top spot, but Cinnamon French Toast surprisingly leads the pack:
- Cinnamon French Toast: With 85% protein per serving, this flavor is the best option for those looking to maximize their protein intake.
- Unflavored: At 84%, the Unflavored option is a close second, offering a high protein content without any added flavors or fillers.
- French Vanilla & Oatmeal Chocolate Chip: Both flavors offer 82% protein per serving, making them excellent muscle-building choices.
⚠️ Bottom 3 Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein Flavors to Avoid
As always, if your goal is to minimize fillers and additives, select protein powders that offer at least 80% protein per serving. While these Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein flavors may be very delicious, they could also be higher in fillers.
- Dark Chocolate: This flavor has the lowest protein content, at only 74% per serving, making it less ideal for those focused on muscle growth.
- Strawberry Milkshake & Vanilla Peanut Butter: Also at 74%, these flavors share the same low protein percentage, which might not be sufficient if you’re aiming for high protein intake.
- Mint Chocolate Chip: At 75%, this flavor is slightly better but still needs to catch up compared to the higher-protein options.
Choosing a flavor with a higher percentage of protein ensures you’re getting the most out of your supplement, especially if your goal is to build and maintain muscle mass.
🍨 Is Transparent Labs Protein Lactose-Free?
Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey is advertised as “virtually lactose-free.” When writing my Transparent Labs Protein review, I experienced windy stomach sounds. However, there is limited information about how Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey is filtered. Based on the typical processes for high-quality whey, I assume it is cold-filtered.
Nutrition Facts: 8 out of 10. Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey offers a high amount of protein per serving and a wide range of flavors. If you’re looking for options with the least fillers and ingredients, I recommend choosing the following flavors: Unflavored, French Toast, French Vanilla, and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip.
👌 Transparent Labs Whey Protein Isolate Best Flavor
If you’re on the fence about selecting a Transparent Grass Fed Protein flavor, I can share that it will taste awesome regardless of which flavor you select. Transparent Labs went the extra mile (and has the gall) to post a picture of what you will be drinking.
The flavor I selected is Milk Chocolate. The flavoring is spot on. Even with the listed amount of stevia used in each flavor profile, I never tasted any trace of stevia. I was very impressed.
If you want to elevate the flavor profile, mix Transparent Grass Fed Protein with skim milk. Or, for an anytime snack that slows digestion, use whole milk to make a treat-like drink.
⭐️ Amazon Whey Protein Review: Transparent Labs Protein Review
There are limited reviews of Transparent Grass Fed Protein on Amazon. As of the writing of this Transparent Labs Whey Review, only 479 reviews sit on 4.4 out of 5 stars. Here is what the negative reviewers shared about Transparent Grass Fed Protein.
- Questionable certificates
- GI issues (cramping and bloating)
- Overly sweet due to stevia
- Not gluten-free, processed in a facility with cross-contaminants (each flavor is different)
Common flavors routinely associated with the negative reviews of Transparent Grass Fed Protein are Vanilla Peanut Butter, Milk Chocolate, and French Vanilla.
When comparing the positive reviews, Transparent Grass Fed Protein shines.
- Mixes great
- Tastes great
- No chemicals or fillers
- Limited ingredient profile
I’m in both camps when reviewing Transparent Grass Fed Protein. There are some glaring issues about the lack of certification and claims made on the label. However, Transparent Grass Fed Protein is the best stevia-flavored protein I’ve ever drank.
🏁 Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey Review – Final Thoughts
We are nearing the end of this Transparent Labs Protein review. Here are my objective findings and my review. There is no denying that there are a lot of buzzwords about Transparent Grass Fed Protein.
When you read the Transparent Labs 100 Grass-Fed label, your statement claims ranging from no hormones, gluten-free, no added artificial fillers and dyes, flavors, or sweeteners. Then you start reading the product description, “sourced from grass-fed cattle, raised humanely and without the use of growth hormones or hormonal agents.”
Unfortunately, if you’re looking for a truly grass-fed experience, Transparent Labs 100 Grass-Fed may be just a standard whey protein isolate with grass-fed claims.
👍 Is Transparent Labs A Good Brand?
If you want a good, reputable, transparent brand, Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein should be on your radar.
As a whole, Transparent Labs can secure most of the important third-party verification seals: Informed Protein and Informed Choice. The protein quality being examined by Labdoor is an added plus. Transparent Labs is good if you’re looking for protein and products to bring you peace of mind. However, I have my reservations about Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein.
I have issues with Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein.
✔️ Is Transparent Labs Legit?
When examining if Transparent Labs is legitimate, they are. Here is why.
Based on my research, Transparent Labs offers a wide range of supplements, as Informed Choice and Labdoor examined. Unfortunately, my research has found that Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein is not the highest quality protein you can purchase.
As I’ve hinted throughout this review, Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein is associated with many marketing claims and buzzwords. Why not get their protein-certified USDA Organic at the bare minimum?
🕵️♂️ Can Transparent Labs be Trusted?
At face value, Transparent Labs has done enough to be trusted. On their website, they share “Science-Backed Formulas, Clinically Effective Dosages.” Technically speaking, Transparent Labs 100 Grass-Fed is a clinically dosed and effective dose.
In total, by examining the third-party certifications earned by Transparent Labs and the tagline “Science-Backed Formulas, Clinically Effective Dosages,” Transparent Labs can be trusted to a certain degree. Regarding their protein, there are some glaring issues. The major one is the lack of a third-party seal certifying grass-fed claims.
Without the lack of third-party verification claims of the use of non-hormonal, non-GMO, and sourced from USA-based dairy farmers, the reality is that Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein is a standard protein with marketing buzz.
✅ Is Transparent Labs Protein Good
Let’s conclude this Transparent Labs Whey review and answer the question: is Transparent Labs Protein good?
There is a lot to love about Transparent Grass Fed Protein. It has obtained several important third-party verifications, including:
- Informed Protein
- Informed Choice
- Labdoor Certificate of Analysis
The flavors are amazing, and the ease of mixing is fantastic. However, the price might cause some people to pause. For some, the premium may be worth it. But when you start comparing the finer details of Transparent Labs Grass Fed Protein to other certified grass-fed protein powders, you might ask yourself, “Why am I paying this much for a protein powder that isn’t certified as USDA Organic, Truly Grass Fed, or Animal Welfare Approved?”
Transparent Labs 100 Grass Fed Whey Protein is advertised as “sourced from grass-fed cattle, raised humanely and without the use of growth hormones or hormonal agents, and contains absolutely no artificial sweeteners, food dyes, or fillers.”
However, the minimum for validating these important claims is to be certified by USDA Organic. Until Transparent Labs achieves USDA Organic or Truly Grass Fed certification, Transparent Grass Fed Protein is just a regular protein powder with a lot of marketing money and famous names behind it.

The flavor and mixability are top-notch, but the premium price and lack of certification might make you wonder if it’s worth it.
- Robust 3rd party certification
- High protein content
- Easy to mix
- Fantastic flavor for a stevia protein
- Higher price
- Not certified as grass-fed
- Not the highest quality protein based on leucine content
